Simple DIY Masks To Fight Wrinkles And Fine Lines

Wednesday, January 26th, 2011

Mask #1

This mask is designed to soften facial and neck lines.  Cleanse your face with a pure natural oil,  such as almond, sesame or olive. Rinse well with lukewarm water and pat dry. If you prefer, you can use your favorite facial cleanser.

Simple DIY Masks To Fight Wrinkles And Fine LinesInstructions

Prick a Vitamin E gel cap with a pin to open.  Squeeze the contents of the Vitamin E gel into a clean bowl or cup.  Use a fork to mix the Vitamin E gel with the yolk of an egg.  If possible, use an organic or free range egg.   Use clean fingertips, cotton swabs or balls to apply to the face.  Be sure to avoid the mouth in order not to swallow any of the raw egg mixture.  Also, be sure to wash your fingers with hot water and soap after you have applied the mask.

Apply to the face, especially on the lines around the eyes and any facial laugh lines.  You can also apply the mask to any lines on the neck.  Leave the mask on for at least 15 minutes.  Rinse with warm water.  Pat dry with a clean soft towel.

Do this once a week for several weeks to see a change.

Mask #2

This mask is designed to smooth out fine lines.  Before you start clean face with lukewarm water and the oil of your choice.  If you prefer, you can use your favorite facial cleanser.

Instructions

Dip 2-4 all natural chamomile tea bags (available at health food stores or online) in filtered or bottled boiling water.  Make the tea just as you would as if you were going to drink it.  Allow the tea bags to cool and then squeeze out excess water.

Simple DIY Masks To Fight Wrinkles And Fine LinesLie down and apply the cooled tea bags to the eye area.  You may wish to lay a clean towel on your face to catch excess drips.   Allow the tea bags to remain on eyes for 30 to 60 minutes.

Mask #3

Cleanse your face with a pure natural oil,  such as almond, sesame or olive to remove any dirt or grim. Rinse well with lukewarm water and pat dry.

Instructions

Grate a medium raw potato and mix it with two tablespoons of sour cream.  Apply as a mask, leave on for 20 minutes.  Wash off with cool water.  Do this once a week for very best results.

Stop Colds And Flu Viruses In Their Tracks

Tuesday, October 20th, 2009

Stop Colds And Flu Viruses In Their TracksIn last night’s edition of Dancing With The Stars (DWTS) it was revealed that Pro Dancer Derek Hough had to step out from the competition temporarily because he had the flu.

If you feel a cold or a flu virus is about to strike there are several things you can do to stop the onset, lessen it’s impact or speed it through your system.

Note: These suggestions and recommendations may not apply to anyone with Swine flu or similar.  However it will often help with colds and seasonal virus bugs.  Please always consult with your own private physician before undertaking any suggestions listed below.

It’s so important for me to stay well to keep up with HairBoutique.com and my other responsibilities so when I feel a cold or virus about to hit I follow the following steps which seem to personally help me:

1.  Amp up the Vitamin C. I like the powdered versions and will take them with plain water to help my body absorb the vitamin as fast as possible.  Although it’s never been conclusively proven that Vitamin C fights colds or wards off symptoms, the evidence swings back and forth.  It’s safe to take up to 1,000 mg.  Continue reading “Stop Colds And Flu Viruses In Their Tracks” »

A Frizz Free Summer From Phyto Hair Care

Tuesday, June 16th, 2009

The PHYTO team along with HairBoutique.com hopes you’re enjoying your Spring/Summer!

The PHYTO Story

A Frizz Free Summer From Phyto Hair CareOnce upon a time, there was a French beauty editor who wanted to tame her frizzy, curly hair.

She turned to Mr. Patrick Alès, the founder of PHYTO, who created his own decoction exclusively for her by extracting the most active molecules from ferula, sage, horseradish and chamomile- Phytodéfrisant was born.

Today, Phytodéfrisant is still winning awards and has been inducted to Allure magazine’s Hall of Fame.  PHYTO continues to develop the most highly concentrated botanical hair care without adding water or Formaldehyde. Continue reading “A Frizz Free Summer From Phyto Hair Care” »

Why Drinking Water Will Help You Lose Weight

Thursday, March 20th, 2008

I knew I was on to something when I realized water would help me lose weight. Not just any kind of water – after many experiments I have found the following types of water, although it may be hard to believe, DO NOT help you lose weight: aquariums, magic eight balls (the water is WAY too dyed), coy fish ponds, rain water, sprinklers, and even the water from those fancy see-through shoes with fish in the heel.

Why Drinking Water Will Help You Lose Weight

Although I did find why DRINKING water helps you lose weight!

Losing Weight by Drinking Water, Starting Over

Thursday, March 20th, 2008

So – what genius decided to start drinking water ONLY, not only right before Saint Patrick’s Day but also before one of my close friend’s birthday…yes, that would be me!

Although I must say the Saint Patrick’s Day snafu wasn’t THAT big of deal, since I’m not really a beer person – but having to drink water at my friend’s birthday party didn’t really go over well. Especially since the party was at Cru Wine Bar…Wine Bar…not Water Bar. http://www.cruawinebar.com/

Although I tried my hardest to resist – I did end up having one glass of white wine – quite possibly the best wine I have ever tasted. Too bad I can’t remember the name of it – not because I was drunk but because the wine steward picked it for me.

So – yes, I’ll have to start my four days of drinking nothing but water over again.

And I guess my “day” will start at 3pm – since I’ve already had a StarBucks today…And yes – my friends are taking bets as to how far I’ll get before I have to start at day one again – but this time I am determined to make it to day 4!!!
