I just noticed a news item and matching video on UTube which showed Rihanna entering the Spanish Kitchen Restaurant in Los Angeles last evening with her entire entourage.

According to reports, the restaurant closed just for the star to dine in private.

Not only have I been to Spanish Kitchen, I make it a point to eat there every time I visit Los Angeles.

In both April and September of 2009 I made several memorable visits to the iconic restaurant with HairBoutique.com’s Edan Kencayd.  The dining establishment has a long and interesting history dating back to the 1940s and the glamour days of Old Hollywood.

Dr. Frank Ryan, the plastic surgeon who performed all the recent surgeries on Heidi Montag (MTV “The Hills”) was on the Bonnie Hunt Show.

Bonnie has talked a lot about Heidi’s plastic surgery and seems horrified that Heidi would undergo all that work at one time.

Bonnie pointed out “Iit’s no secret that plastic surgery has become more common in recent years and that’s especially true here in Hollywood, but how much is too much?”

Whitney Port was on Bonnie Hunt today (Monday, November 23. 2009).  Bonnie introduced Whitney by saying “our next guest we know from her days on “The Hills” and now we can all see her on her own show “The City.”

Bonnie then showed a clip of Whitney on a fix-up date where the guy asked Whitney to “join forces” when it came to the bill.  Whitney reacted as if she thought it was weird that her date asked her to pay her share of the date.

Whitney Eve Dress With Long Beachy Waves

After Whitney arrived on stage with her trademark highlighted blonde hair worn down in a cascade of soft beachy waves in a gorgeous short sassy dress from her collection, she and Bonnie discussed the idea of “joining forces” on a date.

Bonnie told Whitney she looked “so cute” and told the audience the dress Whitney was wearing “was one of her own dresses she designed.”  Bonnie said “good for you.” Whitney said “yeah my very own Whitney Eve”.

Since the end of 2008 my HairBoutique Marketing Guru, also known as Edan, and I discussed taking HairBoutique on the road.

We wanted to visit many of our HairBoutique.com friends all over the country ala Oprah style.  Unfortunately, the day to day demands of running HairBoutique.com made it challenging to figure out when we could hit the road.

Luckily, a special project I am working on with a Los Angeles based hair and beauty expert required me to fly to LA for one week to get some face time with the expert.  Since I was already scheduled to be in LaLa Land, it was a perfect opportunity for Edan to be here and meet with all our HairBoutique friends and business associates.

If you are a fan of The Hills, as I am, you probably love to hate Spencer.  You may or may not hate Heidi but that doesn’t really matter because she’s part of the Spidey team of Spencer + Heidi.

If you do catch episodes of The Hills you know that Spencer and Heidi love to eat at Don Antonio’s Mexican Restaurant on 11755 West Pico Boulevard in Los Angeles.

Since I am in Beverly Hills all week on business, and my marketing guru is also here on separate business, we decided to convene on Sunday evening (Last night) and head for the famous Spikey hangout.  No, we didn’t really expect to see the dynamic blonde duo because they actually had gotten married for the second time the day before.  However, we did want to experience the awesome food that Spencer raves about.

We were not disappointed.  Keep in mind that the HairBoutique Marketing Guru is Hispanic by birth (part Spanish and Italian).  Her grandmommy is a fabulous cook of Hispanic dishes and has been known to feed the squirredl in the neightborhood with handmade lawn enchiladas (no, I am not kidding).  I also have been in Dallas for close to 25 years now and have a finely tuned TexMex, MexMex and pure Mexican set of tastebuds.  Continue reading “Spidey’s Don Antonio’s In LA Rocks Chimis” »
