As a hair, beauty and fashion trend watcher, I have to keep my eyes on all the emerging social arenas, which is why I am an avid Hills watcher.

The Hills (MTV) is fascinating on a number of fronts, from the interpersonal relationships (note to LC - LO is coming between you and the adorable Adrina) to the career building episodes.

If you’re not a Hills fan, the short version is that Heidi, the former Millenium roommate who betrayed a long trusted friendship with Lauren for a - gasp - guy (Spencer Pratt), has now repeated history by dumping an incredible career opportunity.

Besides being tall, slender, blonde and incredibly beautiful, Whitney Port on The Hills wears incredible hair accessory trends. Throughout her time with Lauren and the gang, Whitney has worn her hair in a dizzying array of stunning hairstyles adorned with a wide range of eye popping headbands, clips and related hair accessories.

On the most recent episode shown on Monday, 4/14/08, Whitney wore a skinny white headband studded with tiny Swarovski gems, most likely from Celebrity Stylist Lisa Freede.

The headband has a chic shimmer that is not overpowering and works beautifully to hold Whitney’s hair back off her face while adding that something special.

A very special friend of mine who used to be an editor at Vogue, and just about every other major fashion magazine in the Universe, recently emailed me a link to The Hills. Why? Whitney was wearing a headband and she asked me if I knew who designed it.

I watched the episode and locked on the headband and sent the info back. Unfortunately I got completely hooked on The Hills. I had never managed to catch the show before due to the fact that I already watch a gadzillion shows and even I eventually run out of time.

Once I caught the Hills bug I had to go back and watch all the episodes from Seasons 1 - 3. Now I am a huge fan of Lauren’s, Whitney and Adrina. I know who Lo is and of course Jen, Spencer, Heidi and Elodie.
