One of the greatest benefits of attending any of the Comsoprof Shows is the opportunity to learn about the latest product innovations for hair, skin, nails, body and beauty.

As I walked through the many exhibits at the recent 2009 Cosmoprof (held in Las Vegas, Nevada) many fabulous new and revamped products caught my eye.

Of course I am also fascinated by the various International products the US media might not know as much about.

Crème au Diamant by Gemoloy was one such European company with a fabulous product I was not acquainted with.

A long known secret of home made facials is to combine traditional cooked oatmeal with a little bit of warm cream, milk or water and make it into a mask.

While the mask might be a bit on the gloopy side, the good news is that you can also eat the leftovers.  Besides offering softening benefits, the oatmeal can also produce skin tightening results after long term use.

The Acai ( ah-sigh-EE ) Berry has become a superstar in the skin world, in the past few years, due to the buzz generated when the famous skin doctor - Dr. Perricone - deemed it to be the #1 Skin Food in the world.

The Acai Berry received superstar status in the skin doctors book, “The Perricone Promise”.

It also made it to Oprah’s list, which of course sealed its reputation as a wonder food.

This little dark purple berry, which is about the size of a traditional blueberry (also great for skin and beauty) is not readily accessible in berry form, to anyone who doesn’t actually live in the The Amazon Rainforest in Brazil, where the little fruit grows.

Since the movie Splash in 1984, the ocean’s appeal has gone from blah, to beautiful, to down right sexy. From animated motion pictures (Finding Nemo) to a slew of reality TV shows; the beach, the water, and the mysterious deep having been experiencing decades of revitalized interest. Although scientists have been studying this magical wonder for eons, La Prairie has been one of the first to successfully capture its beautifying properties on such a large scale.
