Us Magazine has confirmed that the much hoped for sequel of Sex And The City (SATC) will be released on May 28, 2010, almost two years from the date of the release of the original film on May 30, 2008.

Producers of SATC Part 2 are hoping to meet or beat the whopping $412 million dollars the first film earned for its worldwide release.

Ironically, many believed the first film might not capture an audience due to the time lag from the ending of the series.  However, the movie not only thrilled long time SATC fans, it won new fans in younger and male categories who previously had not watched the series.  Some believe the second SATC movie might do even better than the first.

One concern about the first and second SATC movies has been whether all the women would appear.  It was widely reported that Kim Cattrall held up the filming of the first SATC movie due to salary and other demands.  This time, as reported by US Weekly, all the women will again be reprising their roles.

Sarah Jessica Parker, Kim Cattrall, Cynthia Nixon and Kristin Davis are all onboard.  Whether their various men and children will appear is still not released. (more…)

The ultimate glamazon who ushered high fashion into the mainstream during her reign as Carrie Bradshaw on the famous Sex And The City (SATC) series, has definitely paid her dues in every area of her life.

To an unaware outsider Sarah Jessica’s charmed life might appear to be the result of good genes, timing and good fortune.  But this is definitely not the case.  And not by a long stretch.

The naturally curly haired actress, fashion icon and savvy business woman has endured years of poverty (her early life), being considered the ugly duckling with a strong female nerd side and lots of hounding by the papparrazzi.  She has also been the subject of untrue and unkind rumors about her personal life, working relationships on SATC and her marriage.  She was also labeled as “unsexy” by Maxim Magazine which she found “hurtful”.

Sarah Jessica Parker was interviewed live on the Red Carpet for the 2009 Oscar Awards.

She had her below-the-shoulder light chocolate brown hair worn cascading down around her shoulders in soft carefully coiffed waves.  Hints of lighter cream highlights dazzled throughout the perimeter of her luscious waves.

SJP had her husband Matthew Broderick by her side looking very handsome in a traditional tuxedo.  He was rather quiet but polite and obviously there to support his wife.

Matthew mentioned he was getting ready to go back to Broadway to take on an upcoming role.

Sarah Jessica was wearing a stunning strapless Dior Au Couture gown that had a fitted waist with a belt and a full skirt. She looked spectacular.  SJP described her princess style gown as “barely mint”.  No, not all the fashion police loved her look but she seemed to love it and it was definitely gorgeous, sexy and fitting with the current fashion trends.

She was asked about a SATC sequel.  She replied “Michael Patrick is happily working on a story which makes me happy.”  SJP was told “you belong on the Red carpet.”

Spoiler Alert - If you haven’t seem the movie yet…you may not want to read any futher…although I promise to try and keep any spoiler to a minimum.

Yes, I was there. One of the hordes of women sprinkled with a few men, who showed up for the very first showing of the SATC movie. The first time available was 10:15 and there I was waiting patiently in line to buy my ticket at 10:00 am sharp.

By 10:10 I was in the very packed theater (Friday at 10:00 am and the theater is packed? Can you only imagine as the day goes on what the crowds will be like?) waiting patiently for sooooooo many previews to finish playing.

I have one thing to say about Maxim Magazine’s comment about Sarah Jessica Parker (known as SJP) being The Unsexiest Woman………………bite me.

The always classy Sex And The City icon replied to the mean Maxim label by saying “It’s so brutal in a way, so filled with rage and anger. It upset [husband Matthew Broderick] because it has to do with his judgment, too.”

What can women do to show support of SJP?  I for one am now officially boycotting Maxim Magazine, which I used to always buy to check out all the men’s fashion and hair articles and images.

Of course just little ole me doesn’t do any good BUT I have talked to all my female friends who are asking their guys to also boycott the magazine.

If enough people stop buying and support Maxim, advertisers included, maybe they will stop promoting such trash talk in their pages.
