Donald Trump has made headlines for years with his tresses which have been compared to an array of things.  Many have referred to The Donald’s hair as a cross between a golden retriever and a ginormous comb over.  Many celebrity hairstylists have offered to restyle the star of “The Celebrity Apprentice” since a makeover of The Donald would put any hairdresser on the International map.

However, Mr. Trump has remained firm in his resistance to a new hairstyle.  After all, his hair is his trademark.  Why would he change it?

Now the real estate tycoon who has made a name for himself in the world of reality TV is using his hair to help him gain recognition for his political aspirations.

The Donald knows that he is often the target of attack for his coiffure, but he embraces it since it makes him stand out from the crowd.   He has also been attacked for his vast wealth and past infidelities with ex-wives.

According to Forbes Magazine Trump is tied as the 420th wealthiest person in the world with an estimated net worth of about $2.7 billion. Whether you love him or hate him there’s no denying he’s done well even though many might argues that he was born with a gold (his favorite color) spoon in his mouth to  multimillionaire parents. Although I’ve been following Reality Steve’s Blog since it first appeared, I actually had my first chat with the very entertaining man behind a spectacular job of reality reporting two years ago.

If you read Reality Steve’s epiphanies you already know he’s passionate about his subject and loves to poke fun of the various shows and contestants.

His best work, however, is directed at the Bachelor/ette franchise which also includes the newly added Bachelor Pad.  There are many reasons why Steve beams his spotlight on the Bachelor and those who are Steve’s fans believe he is completely justified.

Reality Steve Is A Thorn In The Bachelor/ette’s Side

Of course all the powers to be at the Bachelor/ette Production Company give lip service to their disdain for Steve and the fact he started publishing spoilers during the Bachelor Jason season.  At the time Steve posted his outrage at the way Melissa Rycroft and Jason were being manipulated and played to create good reality TV.

Steve is the perpetual thorn in the Bachelor/ette camp’s side.  Host Chris Harrison has spoken out publicly against Steve and mysteriously the reality show blogger’s scheduled appearance on an E special was canceled with no explanation. If you’re a Shear Genius 3 fan you’ve watched Janine Jarman for the past nine weeks cutting, coloring, blow drying, brushing, curling, pinning, extending strands and turning out spectacular hairstyles in a very limited amount of time.

Who will ever forget her first Elimination Win in Week One when her stunning blonde Nymph from the sea floated down the runway strutting her gorgeous cloud of blonde tresses.  It was a WOW moment.

Janine also completely transformed a frumpy man into a hunk using HairUWear hair extensions.  The bubbly competitor also created a picture perfect bob on a model with naturally curly hair.   Of course Janine has had a few misses, but for the most part she has come in either as doing Shear Genius work or being a close second.  Her performance on the reality TV show has been stupendous.

On Monday, March 22nd, I had a fabulous 40 minute chat with Shear Genius 3 (SG3) competitor Janine Jarman.  I’ve known Janine since she first opened her Hairroin Salon and actually attended a Red Carpet event at her salon in the Spring of 2009.

Of course my first topic of conversation with Janine was Brig.  I asked Janine if all the Brig-Janine-Matthew drama shown on the SG3 episodes was real or just part of the show?

Janine answered “no” the truth of the matter was “when all the SG3 competitors were hanging out in their condos between filming”,  Brig “pretty much kept to herself.”  Janine explained “there really wasn’t any big Brig drama off screen” and in reality, “all of the SG3 stylists got along really well.”

So my visions of Brig and Janine rolling around in a crazy cat fight off-air were just in my head?   Yes, just in my head.  Any Brig and Janine drama was ultimately edited to punch up the show and make it more entertaining.  After all, Shear Genius 3 is reality TV and people want to be entertained. It has been revealed that former Vice Presidential candidate Sarah Palin in in the process of producing a reality TV series.

Sarah has reportedly been meeting with producer of “The Apprentice” and “Survivor” Mark Burnett about doing a reality TV docudrama about Alaska.

Sarah is taking meetings with CBS and NBC Universal.  Insiders are saying Sarah’s goal is to bring a “planet-Earth” type of reality show to Alaska.

Many insiders hope Sarah Palin is not successful in her attempts to bring reality TV to Alaska.  Critics question where the necessary drama will be in a reality show about Alaska.  Now if Sarah wanted to do a show about the drama in her daughter Bristol’s life, that might be more interesting.

Of course the proof of the pudding for reality TV is always in the ratings.  If a show sucks, no one will watch it.   I guess that’s the big question.  Would a reality TV about Alaska be interesting enough to win the ratings?  Hard to say.
