It has been announced on world famous 35-year-old Stephenie Meyer’s website that the Twilight author will be a guest on “Oprah” Friday, November 13th.  It’s Stephenie’s only promotional interview for the movie, “New Moon.”

“Since I’m only doing one interview, better make it big,” Meyer wrote before the Oprah announcement.  Good choice.  Right?

Many fans might rank Stephenie ahead of vampire hottie Robert Pattinson when it comes to admiration.  Stephenie is the creator of the biggest franchise since Harry Potter.  Of course because of the already growing frenzy for “New Moon”  Stephenie doesn’t need to do any press events to promote the upcoming film.

In case you’ve been living in a cave, Ms. Meyer wrote the four novels which consist of the “Twilight” vampire romance series.

Stephanie says she’s “amazed and thrilled” with what director Chris Weitz did with “New Moon” in the second film to be made from the series, opening Nov. 20. (more…)

Oprah Winfrey had Ellen Degeneres on her show today (Monday, November 9, 2009) to celebrate the co-cover shoot for the current cover of O Magazine.

Ellen came out dancing to a Lady GaGa tune in her classic trademark suit, black jacket and black pants with a classic white tailored shirt.

When Oprah and Ellen sat down to talk Oprah said she was happy that were not real friends instead of just celebrity friends.  Ellen teased Oprah and said she always wanted to be closer.

Oprah mentioned that Ellen’s quest to be on the cover of O Magazine started as a joke.  Right?  Maybe not so much.  At any rate, Oprah showed all of Ellen’s antics to get her attention about wanting to be on Oprah’s cover.

Oprah said that her staff all watched the shows and Ellen’s tricks to get there attention and she said “I almost didn’t want it to end” because it was so entertaining. (more…)

Ralph Lauren’s firing of ‘too fat’ size 4 model Filippa Hamilton, 23, has raised the anger of women and body-image experts around the world.  In light of the much publicized runway model deaths over the past, people are shocked that Filippa’s 120 pounds is considered “too fat.”

Filippa’s allegation that she was dropped by Ralph Lauren’s company for not fitting into its clothes alarmed women and body-image experts alike.

What?  No NDA For Filippa?

While I’m not condoning anyone’s actions on either side of this issue I have to wonder….didn’t Filippa have an ironclad Non Disclosure Agreement (NDA) with Ralph Lauren?

Even Reality TV Stars are bound to secrecy with penalties in the millions of dollars.  If you’ve watched Big Brother (I’m addicted) you would hear the producers saying “you are not allowed to discuss production” along with other “you’re not allowed tos.”  It actually became a joke with some of the contestants. In her unforgettable memoir, One Day at a Time star Mackenzie Phillips breaks the silence about her shocking relationship with her father, John Phillips of The Mamas and the Papas.

The former child star stunned fans and family last month (Sep09) when she revealed she had been raped by her father, The Mamas & The Papas singer John Phillips, on the eve of her 1979 wedding to Jeff Sessler. She admitted the sex eventually became consensual and continued for 10 years.

Oprah and many of her viewers took “issue” with Mackenzie saying that her relationship with her father did not really meet the definition of “consensual”.

To prove the point Oprah had other incest survivors on her show on Thursday, October 15th, to discuss their own sexual relationships with their parents and why consensual is not really the proper label to attach to that type of relationship. (more…)

Oprah interviewed Mike Tyson today, Monday, October 12, 2009.  A lot of the interview she played clips from Mike’s new documentary about his life.

Oprah started a new segment by playing a clip from the film where Mike Tyson said “he likes a strong woman and then he likes to dominate her sexually and then he likes to watch her.”  He also said “I have too much love too give and not enough love to give back.”  He said he “liked to watch a woman like a tiger.”

Oprah asked him if he still felt the same way today as he did back then which he mentioned in the film.  Mike said “I don’t know, I don’t think so.  I live a very restricted life right now because I could lose it all.”  Mike is obviously a much older, wiser man who is coming to terms with what went wrong in his life and why.

He told Oprah “I know I’m going to fail if I’m going to go that route.”

Mike said “I have no hard feelings towards Robin.”  He said he “felt I was being totally sideswiped by the world”.  He said he was “a young kid, am I a superstar, am I that big, I grew up in an abusive household, but now when the whole world would see it.” (more…)
