Kathie Lee Gifford and Hoda chatted recently about the ongoing Schwarzenegger drama involving Arnold’s recently revealed love child.

Hoda and Kathie Lee discussed the fact that Maria Shriver has known about the love child since January.  They also mentioned that Maria was recently on a taping of Oprah (May 17th) helping the Queen of Talk Show countdown to her final show on May 25th.

A photo of Oprah and Maria was shown by Hoda and Kathie Lee.  Maria’ was wearing a gorgeous midnigh blue gown and was wearing her trademark textured hair looking spectacular.

Hoda said “if looking good is the best revenge, look at her.  She looks so hot.”

Kathie Lee “I think Maria has the greatest head of hair I’ve ever seen.”  Hoda agreed and they chimed in together by saying Marie has “the best hair ever.” Kathie Lee finished by saying “ever, ever, ever.”

Oscar co-hostess Anne Hathaway said “there are very many cool things about this job.  One of them is getting to wear a dress that does this. She shimmied and all her beaded fringe flew around her body.  She said “sorry, personal moment.”

Then the beautiful brunette hostess said “even better is getting to breathe the same air as this next presenter.”  James Franco said “ladies and gentleman Oprah Winfrey.”

Oprah said “after 83 years of Oscars here’s one thing we know for sure.  If we’re feeling lousy, if the news is bad and people are hurting, what do we do?  We go to the movies.  And we escape.”

Oprah continued “but I’m here to present the award to the best movie that did not let us escape.  The Outstanding Documentary Of The Year.  And this was an incredible year for documentaries with so many brilliant filmmakers working in all regions of the globe telling their stories, illuminating the human condition, insights and truths.  Many did this against great odds.  Some are even imprisoned for their efforts but it has never been more important for us to see these stories.  To help us try to make some sense of the world, we live in.”

Oprah said “the nominees for best documentary feature: Exit Through The Gift Shop, Banksy, Gasland, Inside Job, Restrepo and Waste Land.   The winner of the Oscar was Inside Job.

New York City Ballet principle ballerina was a guest on Oprah’s show on February 17th.  She shared many secrets about her life as a longtime dancer and addressed recent criticism about her weight.

Both Jenifer, who is 37, and the New York City Ballet gave Oprah and her camera access behind the scenes to learn about the real world of ballet.  Oprah wanted to know if the life which was depicted by Natalie Portman in the film Black Swan was reality or not.

Jenifer, who appeared on Oprah with her natural curls softly cascading down just past her chin, allowed the cameras to watch her do her hair and make-up for a performance.  Jenifer said it takes “100% to be a ballerina” while it also takes “100% to be a wife and 100% to be a mother.”   Jenifer said that the desire to be “perfect sometimes can feel overwhelming.”

Jenifer has been devoted to ballet since the age of 10.  At 37 her body is feeling the wear and tear of all the dancing.

The star dancer explained that she starts doing her hair and make-up about two hours before she goes onstage.  She said what “what most people don’t realize is that when we dance a lot of times we get very red in the face, we get very sweaty, so we have to put on this really thick make-up so that we still look calm and cool.  We just try to look like the best versions of ourselves.” Continue reading “New York City Ballet Star Jenifer Ringer Transforms Her Natural Curls Into Perfect Buns” »

Oprah continues to make history as she counts down to her final show.  Today she had the entire cast of the controversial The View on  her talk show.  To make them feel welcome Oprah had their very first table flewn in and installed on her stage.

View original cast member, Joy Behar, revealed some interesting facts about her naturally curly hair which I had never heard before.    Joy usually wears her hair chin length or slightly longer and straight or will just a touch of texture.

I love Joy because of her amazing gift for comedy.  She has a way with words and lent them to talking about her tresses.

Getting Her Hair Flat Ironed

The Oprah show cameras followed Joy and all her fellow cast members behind the scenes of the ABC show.  Joy was shown being interviewed while her hair was being methodically flat ironed to straighten out her texture.  She teased “it’s hard to be serious with my hair like this.”

A retrospective of images of Joy from the past was shown.  Joy was photographed with short super curly hair.

Aussie actor Russell Crowe and his lovely blonde wife Daniella hung out with Oprah Winfrey during her famous Australian tour.  In fact, Russell served as Oprah’s first mate on a sailing trip through Sydney’s majestic harbor with a full regatta of sailboats full of her hundreds of traveling companions.

Popping In To The Opera House

The charming Russell stopped by for a chat with Oprah at the world famous Opera House.  The actor told the Queen of Talk that he lives so close to the concert hall that he walked over for his appearance and “scared the hell out of a security guard round the back there when I turned up because it wasn’t in his brief about me just popping over.  So he had to make a few calls to open the gate and we just walked round here.”

Oprah asked Russell what is so great about Sydney particularly.  He said “the key about Sydney is being relaxed about everything, you know.  It’s the epitomy of the no worries.  It’s about Sydney, it’s about connecting with the water, the harbor.  It’s about connecting with the beaches.  When you live in a city like this it’s not that hard to be friendly.”

Russell’s take on the difference between Australian men and American men?  “Probably dental care.”  Oprah told Russell and her audience “I’ve seen a lot of great looking Australian men.”  She recounted how she told her friend Gayle “maybe you need to find an Aussie man.” Continue reading “Russell Crowe – Sports Should Be About Inspiring Kids” »
