Oprah & Dr. Oz Encourage People To Listen To Their Own Bodies

Monday, June 15th, 2009

Although I am still a workaholic who logs seven days a week on HairBoutique.com, I am happy to report that I have slowed down a bit over the past six months to take better care of me.

Instead of my previous 25/7 work schedule, I now only spend a maximum of five days a week at the HairBoutique office and have taken to working at home on the weekends.  OK, OK, sometimes I have to go in for a few hours on a Saturday but for the most part I work at home on weekends whenever possible.

It is amazing how much stress I have managed to shed by working at home.  While I still Tweet and Blog nonstop, I am also able to catch up on all the TV programs I have taped on the TIVO throughout the prior week.  I am just now catching up with prior tapes of Oprah, Ellen and Bonnie Hunt. (more…)

Randy Pausch’s Widow Jai Shares Memories Of Husband On Oprah

Saturday, June 13th, 2009

Oprah Winfrey recently did a show that was a farewell to Dr. Oz, America’s doctor, as he prepares to go off and do his own talk show and continue to help people.

Oprah’s farewell show for Dr. Oz involved recapping some of the most memorable moments of his visits on her show over the past five years.  Included in the goodbye show on Oprah was a recap of Dr. Oz’s visit with Randy Pausch who was a 45 year old college professor who had been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.

Professor Randy Pausch

Dr. Oz said that people like Professor Randy Pausch “are the reason he got into medicine”.  He also said “I loved Randy Pausch, he was a hero to me.  When you talk to people who are dying, they tell the truth.  There’s no reason for them not too.”

A clip showed Dr. Oz asking Randy about discovering he had pancreatic cancer.  Randy said “I just started to sorta feel bad and funny and we did an ultrasound just to rule things out and my GP called me the next day and said ‘there’s a mass on your pancreas.’ (more…)

Philip Pelusi - Hair Maestro & Hair Guru

Monday, May 25th, 2009

The Fashion World as well as the world of Hollywood turns to Philip Pelusi for glossy gorgeous hair on film sets and in print.

Philip has worked with Oprah as a visiting hair guru and regularly contributes to O Magazine.  The hair guru has also worked with many celebrities over the years.  He has told the media “Queen Noor was so incredibly nice and gracious. Also she is extremely beautiful. Diane Lane was so smart, beautiful and had a great energy.”

Philip is famous for his amazing haircuts.  He is very talented with all types and textures of hair, but he is also known to be great with natural curls as well as thick, straight and very stubborn hair.  Philip can quickly create hairstyles that generate instant hair envy.   Philip’s own personal style icon?  “Andy Warhol for his wonderful sense of style, talent and creative vision.”

He was named one of the top 10 haircutters and hair stylists in InStyle magazine. This was added to his accolades as Top Designer of the World by Lo Zeffiro and World Master by the Art and Fashion Group International.  Philip is often quoted as saying “I didn’t invent the haircut, I just made it better.”

Seal Spills Baby Beans To Oprah After Performance

Sunday, May 10th, 2009

Oprah was obviously thrilled to have singer Seal appear on her show on Friday, May 8, 2009.  She was caught on camera dancing with her Friday Live With Oprah panelist Ali Wentworth.

After Seal sang Oprah chatted with him and told the audience Seal’s I Can’t Stop The Rain is one of her favorite songs.  She pointed out the song is “cut number two from his album Soul, which is now available for sale.”

(Image of Oprah Winfrey - HBM - All Rights Reserved).

Oprah asked Seal if he had just finished his most recent US tour.  The singer said yes, he just finished his US tour in Los Angeles (California) yesterday.  He said he had “the kids with me at sound check and they took over the stage.  And then papa went out and did his thing…….”

Note: Seal and Heidi have two sons, Henry Günther, 3, and Johan Riley, 2, and Klum has a five-year old daughter, Leni, from a previous relationship.

Oprah repeated “papa went out and did his thing.  Papa did.”  She said “I was asking you during commerical break, have you ever had one of those Seal moment where you’re listening to your own music - because the thing was I was driving my Tyler Perry Car - you know - so I had the top down and I had the music turned up as loud as it would go, and that song, cut #2 came on and I just became, I became the music.” (more…)

Verbal, Mental, Physical Violence Towards Women Increasing - Rhianna, Woman With Face Transplant,

Sunday, May 10th, 2009

I can’t decide if the news media is just reporting more about physical, mental, emotional and verbal abuse directed towards women or the acts of violence are accelerating.

Unless you were living in a cave, you probably heard how Chris Brown allegedly beat up Rhianna which resulted in his arrest and charges being levied against him.

(Image of Rhianna - HBM - All Rights Reserved).

According to Rhianna insiders, Chris Brown allegedly had been verbally, mentally and physically abusing Rhianna before the final incident where the police were actually called and the singer was found bleeding.

Diane Sawyer did an interview on Friday morning (May 8, 2009) on Good Morning America with Connie Culp, the woman whose husband literally shot her face off when he leveled a shotgun at her.  Her husband had been attempting a murder/suicide plan to kill Connie and then turn the shotgun on himself.  Although Connie was left horribly disfigured, her husband survived virtually unharmed and went to jail instead.
