JACKIE’S JEWELRY FETCHES NEARLY $80,000

London, England – World renowned auction house, Bonhams, reported that on Sunday they sold two faux pearl necklaces and a pair of faux diamond and pearl earrings previously worn by former First Lady Jacqueline Kennedy for approximately $80,000.

The costume jewelry had a value of only several hundred dollars but sold for approximately 10,000 times their value due to the ongoing legend still associated with Mrs. Kennedy’s status as a respected fashion icon.

A Bonham’s jewelry expert said, “it’s fair to say that 99.9% of the value is because they belonged to Jackie Kennedy.”

The jewelry was sold by an unidentified British collector after first being purchased at Sotheby’s 1996 auction of the Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis’ estate.

The Bohams auction was the culmination of the first Vintage at Goodwood Festival, a three-day event celebrating all that is best about British popular culture in music, fashion, art, design and film.

Jonathan Rhys-Meyers was recently a guest on Bonnie Hunt’s talk show.  He looked very GQ with a crisp white shirt with rolled up sleeves, black satin vest and fitted black pants.  His hair was cut very short in a buzzed look.  Yes, he looked handsome which Bonnie made note of.

She said “you look cute.”  He smiled and replied in his sexy accent “thank you very much, you look cute yourself.”

Bonnie said “you like maybe you’re auditioning for Guys and Dolls.”  Jonathan paused and said “or a waiter.”  Bonnie laughed “that’s another option.”

Bonnie asked about the fact Jonathan grew up in Ireland.  He said “I did, yeah.  I grew up on a farm in North County Cork (near where my own grandparents were born).”  He told Bonnie “it’s beautiful.”

It was approximately a year ago that Country superstar, Kenny Chesney, made his last appearance on Oprah.  The Big O obviously adores Kenny, his music and his overall hotness.

Kenny hung out with Oprah on her April 9th show and shared a lot of personal information which he has refused to do in the past.  Oprah asked the superstar why his very brief marriage with the blonde Renée Zellweger ended.

Kenny explained “I panicked.”  He told Oprah he keeps everything about his life “in a box” that he feels he needs to “protect”.

In essence he said “the idea of marriage made me lose my identity,” and he shared his fear that marriage might change who he is and his lifestyle.

Oprah commiserated.  He told Oprah Renée and their marriage fell outside of the box. Kenny indicated he has hasn’t found anyone that was bigger than all of that.

Oprah asked Kenny if he remember the last time he was really pissed off about something.  Kenny teased and said it was when someone asked him on TV to talk about Renée Zellweger.  Oprah thought it was a hilarious response.

Kenny did make a point of saying Renée was a “sweet soul.”

Although his marriage to Renée in 2005 lasted only a few short months he admitted he like to settle down, have children and maybe try marriage again.  He also admitted he was seeing someone currently although he was not forthcoming about who or any of the circumstances.

Yes I live in Dallas, Texas.  Well sort of.  I spend the bulk of my time in the burbs, specifically Richardson where HairBoutique.com is located and then Plano where my software company is located.

Home is in North Dallas which is about 10 minutes down the 190 depending on how fast I’m driving these days.  I have to say that while I enjoyed growing up in St. Louis, I absolutely love living in Dallas.  It has always felt more like home to me than St. Louis and the people are warm and welcoming.

I rarely get to Downtown Dallas but when I first moved here in late 1984 (26 years ago) from St. Louis my late husband and I did all the downtown touristy things.  Including Dealey Plaza, a popular tourist spot since Kennedy’s 1963 assassination there. Like many first time visitors we were shocked at small the area is where he was killed.  It looks a lot bigger on film.

Recently Dallas native Erykah Badu who is almost as famous for her iconic hair and head wraps as her music, filmed a controversial video as she walked stripping nude along a sidewalk near where JFK was assassinated.  The video was released Saturday for her song “Window Seat” which Badu told the media was “shot guerrilla style” with no crew and in one take on March 17th. Jeff Bridges, the 2010 Golden Globe winner for best actor for his role in “Crazy Heart” was on the Oprah Winfrey show on Friday, Janauary 22nd.

Oprah kicked off her segment with Jeff by showing his Golden Globe acceptance award during which he thanked his wife and said “I’m looking at you sweetheart.  Thirty three years, my wife, my beautiful wife, get a shot of her.  You gotta get a shot, oh my.  Keep me flying, yep.”

Oprah said “That was Jeff Bridges last Sunday night.  Yeah Jeff, whoooo.  That was Jeff Bridges accepting his best actor Golden Globe for his performance (as Bad Blake) in “Crazy Heart” which is being called Crazy Great.”  Oprah then played a clip of the movie.”

Oprah said that “Jeff Bridges is Bad Blake and he’s stirring up all kinds of Oscar talk.  As a boozed up, washed up country singer on the brink. “Crazy Heart” is a love story of addiction and destruction.  And Bridges actually does all of his own singing.  Even though this fallen star thirsts for a different life, his demons keep surfacing.  When all else seems lost he seeks redemption and finds himself back in the game.”
