Annie Ngosi Ilonzeh Has Natural Hair Style

Annie Ngosi Ilonzeh Has Natural Hair StyleAnnie Ngosi Ilonzeh (born August 23, 1983) is an American actress. She is best known for her role as Maya Ward on General Hospital.

She currently stars as Kate Prince in the ABC series Charlie’s Angels.  The highly anticipated TV series is a reboot of the original TV series which aired in the 1960s and co-starred Farrah Fawcett.  Annie is noteworthy because she wears her medium length hair in an all natural hair style with an array of twists, curls and coils.

Annie Ngosi Ilonzeh was born in Grapevine, Texas which is located between Dallas and Fort Worth, Texas. She attended the University of Texas at Arlington.

In 2007 she made her TV debut in an episode of the CBS series How I Met Your Mother.  She also had bit roles in the movies He’s Just Not That Into You, Miss March and Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief.

In 2009-2010, she appeared in three episodes of TV’s Melrose Place which was cancelled. In 2010 she guest starred in two episodes Entourage on HBO.

From 2010 to 2011 she played the role Maya Ward on the ABC soap opera General Hospital.  In January of 2011 it was announced Annie would be one of the three Angels on the Charlie’s Angels series.

Annie will be a great joy to watch as the TV series unfolds because it appears that her hair will be styled in a wide range of natural hair styles.  I for one can’t wait to see how her natural hairstyles unfold.

Decorative Hair Comb Hairstyle How To

Decorative Hair Comb Hairstyle How ToDecorative Hair Comb Hairstyle How To

Decorative hair combs can be crafted out of a vast number of materials ranging from natural materials such as wood and stone to ivory and real tortoiseshell.  As concern for the animals was raised, some materials were outlawed.

When tortoiseshell became prohibited a faux tortoise shell was developed from cellulose and plastic.  Ivory is also forbidden to be used in combs or other types of hair adornments.

The best quality combs are hand crafted and polished by hand.  Such is the case with the The France Luxe Classic European Side Combs which offer timeless beauty. I’ve personally owned and worn these gorgeous combs for over 10 years.

Depending on your hair type, texture, length and desired hairstyle, these European style combs can be worn as a decorative accessory for a classic French twist or a more modern twist with a fanned out top tail or similar.  These combs are also functional and can be used to hold hair in place.

Depending on how much hair you have, the combs may or may not work best as an adornment or an anchor.   You can wear one or more of these combs with straight, wavy, curly or even kinky hair.

Usually you will need enough hair to be secured by the combs, but if your hair is fine or slippery you can use the bobby pin secret to anchor the combs into your hair (see below for details). Continue reading “Decorative Hair Comb Hairstyle How To” »

Izabella Miko Shows Off Cascades Of Curls As Raia On NBC’s The Cape

Wednesday, February 2nd, 2011

Izabella Miko Shows Off Cascades Of Curls As Raia On NBCs The CapeIzabella Anna Mikołajczak (born January 21, 1981), better known asIzabella Miko, is a Polish-born actress, dancer and environmentalist.  She can currently be seen as Raia on NBC’s The Cape.  Although she is great in the show, it is in danger of not surviving much longer on the air.

In her role as a sexy acrobat Izabella has long cascades of buttery blonde tightly curled tresses.  She wears her curly hairstyle cascading off from a deep side part.  Her curly hairstyle gives her a dramatic look for her role flying in the air at the Big Top.

The big question is whether Izabella is wearing a curly wig or had curly extensions applied.  Why?  Her natural hair appears to be medium length and bone straight.

Izabella Miko Shows Off Cascades Of Curls As Raia On NBCs The CapeHow did Izabella suddenly go from a straight chin length bob hairstyle to below-the-shoulder curls?  Obvioulsy Izabella is wearing a tightly curled wig, extensions, clips-ins or had her hair tightly curled for the part.  It’s a great look for her.

The beautiful actress was born in Lodz, Poland the daughter of actors Grazyna Dylag and Aleksander Mikolajczak.  She grew up in Warsaw where she studied to be a ballerina.  An American choreographer invited her to study in New York City on a scholoraship and she there with her mother on her 15th birthday.

Her American film debut was in Coyote Ugly in 2000.  She appeared in three episodes of HBO’s award winning Deadwood and in The Killers’ music video for Mr. Brightside.  In 2010 Miko appeared in the big-budget remake of Clash of the Titans as Athena.

How Long Should Hair Cuts Take?

Sunday, March 21st, 2010

How Long Should Hair Cuts Take?Yesterday I was talking to some of my hairstylist friends and of course we’ve all been watching Shear Genius 3 (SG3) every week on Bravo/TV.

As a result of the show lots of topics of hair conversation have been popping up.

One conversation was the Shortcut Challenge which is one of two challenges which takes place every episode on SG3.

The challenge is always timed.  Often the SG3 contestants are only given 60-120 minutes, depending on the hair challenge and what other hairdressing tasks might be included such as applying color, chemicals, hair extensions or other adjunct hair styling procedures.

Which brought up the question, how long a hair cut should really take.  In the real world of course.  Not on a reality TV show. The answer?  It depends.

A haircut may include the following variables:

1.    Length of hair (very short to very long)
2.    Texture of hair (straight, wavy, curly, kinky, mixed textures)
3.    Type (thin, medium, thick, very thick)
4.    Children of adult cut
5.    Male of female
6.    Wet haircut or dry haircut
7.    Cut only or cut with blow out and styling options?
8.    Haircut combined with other chemical treatments such as color or texturizing?
9.    Cost of the cut (inexpensive to full service cut)
10.  Type of salon or hair establishment (cut-in-the-box, high end or celebrity salon)
11.  Experience and skill level of hairstylist as well as reputation
12.  Number of people involved.  Are assistants included?

Of course there are always unforeseen variables but in general the key variables are listed.

In cosmetology school once we were taught to caught hair we were required to practice, practice, practice and focus on getting fast while being being precise and efficient.  Of course time is always money in the world of hairdressing.

(Goldwell Trend Zoom 09 Models – Ruby 1 – All Rights Reserved – Goldwell)

Layers are the key to quick change hairstyles.  When layers are carefully carved into your basic style the utilization of hot tools, brushes and styling products can produce amazing style transformations.

Try some of the following medium length layered haircuts with a texturized fringe for fast hair change options:
