She Uemura’s US Operations Shuttered By L’Oreal

Tuesday, March 30th, 2010

She Uemuras US Operations Shuttered By LOrealCosmetics giant L’Oreal has announced it’s closing US operations of its Japanese luxury cosmetics brand Shu Uemura.  It has promised to continue global operations.

Personally I’m a huge fan of the Shu Uemura eyelash curler, an industry favorite.  I for one am going to stock up.  I also love the purifying lotion and eye-brightening white liner, to name just a few of the goodies Shu Uemura sells.

According to L’Oreal, their decision to cut Shu Uemura from its US portfolio was made so the company could focus on selected brands which are expected to contribute to future growth.  Shu Uemura actually represents only a very small part of the company’s luxury business.

Carol Hamilton president of L’Oreal USA’s luxury division said “going forward, we decided that L’Oreal USA would be better served by focusing on our other strategic luxury brands like Lancôme, Yves Saint Laurent, Giorgio Armani, Ralph Lauren, Kiehl’s, and fragrances.” Continue reading “She Uemura’s US Operations Shuttered By L’Oreal” »

LOréal USAs SalonCentric Division Aquires Two Midwest DistributorsL’Oréal USA’s SalonCentric Division Expands Its Nationwide Professional Products Distribution Network with Two Acquisitions

L’Oréal USA’s SalonCentric Division drew closer today to national coverage of its professional products distribution network with the announcement of two significant acquisitions – Maly’s Midwest and Marshall Salon Services.

This is part of a strategic commitment that L’Oréal USA made three years ago to further its mission to gain closer proximity to the salon community while continuing to provide them with the best products, service, training and education for professional and personal success.

To that end, these highly-respected, family-owned distributors joined the company’s rapidly-growing distributor network. The additions now provide SalonCentric with coverage of over 80% of the US. Maly’s Midwest and Marshall Salon Services represent combined sales of $130 million. Continue reading “L’Oréal USA’s SalonCentric Division Aquires Two Midwest Distributors” »

Leonor Greyl’s Huile De Palme – Tips For Maximum Benefit

Friday, November 6th, 2009

Leonor Greyls Huile De Palme Tips For Maximum BenefitWhen I started HairBoutique back in 1996-1997 I promised myself I would continue to try all the products that HairBoutique.com sells in their Marketplace.  With that promise in mind I recently did some user testing of Leonor Greyl’s fabulous Huile De Palme.

(Image of Leonor Greyl’s  Huile De Palme – Courtesy of HairBoutique.com and Leonor Greyl – All Rights Reserved).

HairBoutique.com has been carrying the complete Leonor Greyl line for some years now but I tend to get lazy and not want to swap out from my regulars that I have been rotating through for many years which are cherry picked from Phyto, Rene Furterer, JF Lazartique, Paul Mitchell and L’Oreal.

Yes, there is a recession right now and I am watching my pennies like almost everyone else but because my own hair is naturally wavy/curly and naturally dry, I have been diluting or Conditioning Only (CO) washing my hair for many years now.

I also do regular oil treatments but when one of my faves was discontinued I decided to create my own – HairTopia oil – which I used on a daily basis alternating the oil with the mist.  I love jojoba oil for my hair but it is not for all hair types and textures.

Which brings me to the Leonor Greyl Huile De Palme.  I love all the Leonor Greyl packaging because it is clean and pristine.  Even before Gwen Stefani the No Doubt group made Leonor Greyl product line their hair care of choice for their 2009-2010 concert tour, I loved the company, their customer care and the results the product delivers. Eva Longoria Parker’s Hairstyle For Her Star On Hollywood Walk of Fame

Thursday, October 22nd, 2009

Eva Longoria Parkers Hairstyle For Her Star On Hollywood Walk of FameEva Longoria stole the limelight at a Hollywood award ceremony on October 21th. Eva Longoria celebrated L’Oreal’s 100th anniversary with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame yesterday.

The gorgeous Mrs. Tony Parker was flanked by Andie MacDowell and Kate del Castillo.  The three brunette beauties all slammed their hands into wet cement together.

Eva was also in the news becuase she recently told OK! Magazine one of her “beauty secrets”.  She said “you know what product that I love the most that you have to try?”

Her answer? “The collagen mascara (L’Oreal’s Extra-Volume Collagen Mascara).” She told OK! “I always used to wear false lashes, and now I don’t have to because this mascara totally pops your eyes and I love it.”

Regardless of whether or not she has switched out false lashes for L’Oreal silicone mascara or not, she was appropriately glammed up for her appearance.  Her L’Oreal hair and make-up looked stunning.  Would you expect anything less from the Desperate Housewife?
