Zac Efron’s career continues to sizzle.  Proving what Adam Shankman said about Zac in Newsweek in June of 2006 the hunky young actor is “arguably the biggest teen star in America right now.”

The star of Disney Channel’s High School Musical films as Troy Bolton, the WB’s Summerland series and Broadway’s Hairspray is enjoying the success of 17 Again which took the box office by storm a few weeks.

Zac has several future films and episodes in development, but is currently filming a guest role on HBO’s wildly popular Entourage.

Cameras recently caught Zac hanging with Jeremy Piven on the Entourage Set.  At one point Zac was spotted stretching his back which revealing that he was wearing tidy white Calvin Klein briefs.  Not bad product placement for Calvin Klein eh? (more…)

The March 2009 issue of Interview included a fabulous feature about the upcoming HBO film, Grey Gardens, set to premiere in April.

The focus of the article written brilliantly by Tara Subkoff is on the incredible recreation of the original Grey Gardens fashions.

History Of Grey Gardens

If you’re not familiar with the history of Grey Gardens, it was a phenomenal 94 minute documentary film created in 1973 by Albert and David Maysle along with Ellen Hovde and Muffie Meyer.

The documentary was an inside look at Big and Little Edie Bouvier Beale, a reclusive mother and daughter team who lived an eccentric lifestyle in a decaying mansion known as Grey Gardens because of the appearance of the once fabulous gardens. (more…)

Jessica Lange and Drew Barrymore star as Big and Little Edie Bouvier Beale in the upcoming HBO film about Grey Gardens which airs on April 18, 2009.

Although there are many noteworthy facts about topic of the film, Drew who plays the character of Little “Edie” Bouvier Beale wears historically accurate turbans on her head, just as the real Little Edie did during the original Grey Gardens documentary.

The turbans are noteworthy because they were worn by the real Little Edie to cover her accelerating hair loss and because she created the head wraps from a wide range of scarves and other eclectic clothing pieces.

The new HBO film was designed to be an independent work loosely based on the original Greg Gardens documentary film created in 1975 by the direction/cinematography/editing team of Albert and David Maysles, Susan Froemke, Ellen Hovde, and Muffie Meyer. (more…)

Yes I read blogs. Hundreds of them. I have to keep up on the Hollywood scene and can’t always get the direct word of mouth stuff.

One of the blogs I regularly check out - That Other Blog reported today that HBO’s Entourage next season, which would normally be starting now, pushed back until next September.

Even more disturbing, the season might be short one or more episodes (12 instead of 14).

Why? The fallout from the writers strike has prevented show creator (and chief writer) Doug Ellin from having all the episodes ready for shooting.

When interviewed about Entourage Doug Ellin replied “I’m writing as fast as I can” to get to the 14 episodes.
