Hair accessory guru Henning Deichmann
Saturday, November 7th, 2009I’ve been passionate about hair accessories from a very young age, assigning great value to my limited collection of headbands and pony clips. When I was honored with an invitation to pledge Alpha Xi Delta sorority at the University of Missouri in St Louis, a whole new appreciation of hair accessories quickly followed.
The official flower of the Alpha Xi Delta sorority was the pink rose, which was often worn in the hair at rush parties, fund raisers and other formal events. My Alpha Xi big sister was a hair accessory fashionista and instantly started plopping an array of jaws, claws, pelicans and pony elastics onto my tresses. She also taught me how to crochet bun warmers, snoods and pony twists.
My interest in hair accessories continued to evolve from that point forward. During a trip to France in the late 80s I was charmed by the gorgeous hand crafted cellulose collections I discovered adorning the tresses of European women. By the time HairBoutique.com was launched I had become acquainted with some of the stunning Evita Peroni collection of accessories which was created by Henning Deichmann.
