Leave it to the gorgeous Carla Gugino to rock the Red Carpet with an eye popping, mouth dropping, sleek and shiny bob.

The sometime Entourage guest star appeared at the recent Los Angeles premiere for Season Seven with a spectacular below-the-chin shimmering brunette bob with an eye framing blunt fringe with a hint of separation.

If you look closely you can see that Carla’s hair is precision highlighted and low lighted to amp up her brunette base.

Carla Gugino’s New Bob

Carla’s bob hairstyle is the latest 2010 version which has been evolving since Gwyneth Paltrow showcased “the new bob” back in the Fall of 2008.

What’s the “new bob” you ask?

Both the 2008 and 2010 versions are longer, softer, sleeker and wide open to hair texture and styling interpretations.  Meaning?  It can be worn bone straight or full of lots of natural texture.  It can be worn cascading from a wide range of parts and fringes designed to flatter any face shape, hair type or texture. Since the end of 2008 my HairBoutique Marketing Guru, also known as Edan, and I discussed taking HairBoutique on the road.

We wanted to visit many of our HairBoutique.com friends all over the country ala Oprah style.  Unfortunately, the day to day demands of running HairBoutique.com made it challenging to figure out when we could hit the road.

Luckily, a special project I am working on with a Los Angeles based hair and beauty expert required me to fly to LA for one week to get some face time with the expert.  Since I was already scheduled to be in LaLa Land, it was a perfect opportunity for Edan to be here and meet with all our HairBoutique friends and business associates.

Jeremy Piven made a beeline for Giuliana Rancic on the Golden Globes Red Carpet.  She thanked him for talking to her instead of Ryan Seacrest.  Jeremy who was nominated for a Golden Globe for his work in Entourage told the lovely Guiliana that he had a special fondness for her because “you’re a Chicago woman now that you’re married to a Chicago man”.

Jeremy pointed out he is from Chicago and has a special fondness in his heart for all the people from Chicago as well as anything related to that great city.

Guiliana laughed at Jeremy’s Chicago explanation and he said “we go even deeper in our bonds now” because of Chicago.  Jeremy said he wanted to “give a shout out to all the good folks back home in Chicago.”

Guiliana asked Jeremy if it was “fun being” at the Golden Globe Awards and Jeremy said “I’m incredibly grateful to be here”.    He also said “I am really proud that Kevin (Connolly) is nominated” because he “really deserves the nomination” and Jeremy said he hoped Kevin won.  He also said he is “really proud of Entourage and that it is nominated.”

When he was asked who was his date he replied “his mother”.  Jeremy is actually famous for bringing his mother to all the award shows as his date.

Guiliana asked Jeremy about his recent brush with high mercury in his system which amounted to a form of mercury poisoning.  Jeremy said he “didn’t want to go into it at length” but he “followed the doctor’s orders” and was doing a “lot of resting”.

He had to drop out of his role on Broadway and said it was sad “because Broadway was my dream” but Bill Macy is replacing him and afterall, Bill “is an upgrade” from Jeremy.

The Entourage actor who plays superagent Ari Gold was very gracious and looked good.  Unfortunately he did not win the Golden Globe award nor did Kevin or Entourage.  At least its good to know that the actor is on his way to improved health.

I am a huge fan of Entourage and am thrilled to read that Kevin Connelly is getting his own story line (good job Doug Ellin). In real life that would definitely happen. Members of the crew grow up and want to split away OR they turn to mush and get kicked out.

Recently I was hanging out in the waiting room of my Dallas haircolorist – Rose Zuniga (who rocks color like no one else I have been to). I was with my PA Lance who takes me a lot of places so I can answer phone calls and deal with business while he drives. There was an article in one of the magazines in the waiting room about the dynamics of business “crews” or “teams”. It was fascinating and while very obvious, I had never quite considered some of the points made about the inter workings of a crew. Lance definitely plays a big part in the crew and since he is my personal assistant it would strange if he wasn’t a key part.
