I first met Jessica Simpson in person in the Summer of 2002, before her marriage to Nick Lachey, the famous reality TV show Newlyweds or the cruel media attacks directed at her for her weight.

Jessica, her sweet mom Tina and charming dad Joe traveled to Dallas to do a Seventeen Magazine shoot and perform at the grand opening of the Seventeen Spa.

A native Texan who went to high school in Dallas, it seemed only fitting to have her back for the kickoff party.

The beauty also brought along her make-up artist, her hairstylist, her friend CaCee Cobb and her grandparents who were all wonderful and interesting people.

Meeting Jessica was such a treat because she was so warm, sweet and welcoming.  She is also breathtakingly beautiful in person and her hair was so shiny and silky it literally shimmered in the light.

There were several points during her three day visit where I was impressed with her kindness, generosity, sense of humor and beauty.  During that period of time in her life she was preparing for her upcoming wedding and was working out and watching her diet to be at her best for her stunning gown.  Continue reading “Hair Memories Of Jessica Simpson” »

The Bar Method™ and Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment Partner to Promote Dance Fitness In Celebration of  Academy Award-Nominated Film Black Swan*

NBC’s Hit Weight-Loss Series “The Biggest Loser”  Launching Nationwide Search For New Contestants

Season Twelve Auditions for Teams of Two and Individuals to be Held in Indianapolis, Nashville, New York City, Portland, Denver, Minneapolis, Orlando, Phoenix, Dallas, Salt Lake City and Los Angeles.

“The Biggest Loser” is launching a cross-country search to find new contestants for the next edition of the hit show. Individuals and teams of two who have at least 100 lbs. to lose are encouraged to apply for the new season, which will air in the fall of 2011.

Casting producers are looking for outgoing and charismatic teams of two and individuals who have the personality, desire and competitive edge to vie for this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to lose weight, change their lives forever and compete for a grand prize of $250,000.

Candidates must be at least 18 years of age and legal residents of the United States.

While they will try to see everyone, “The Biggest Loser” casting teams will do their best to see the first 500 people in line.

When you live in Dallas, Texas you almost certainly grow up with a love of football.  Yes, it’s true the love tends to be tied to the Dallas Cowboys, college or Texas high school football.  But in general, it’s a true and undying love of football.

When I first moved to Dallas in 1984 I was stunned to discover that a group of business women having lunch talked football.  Even though I grew up in St. Louis where football wasn’t as popular, I knew after that women’s lunch I had to get with the program.

As a result, I became a fan of football.  Which explains why last night I was watching Inside The NFL on Showtime.  I love the hilarious, but informative banter, between Chris Collingsworth, Warren Sapp (my own personal favorite) Phil Simms and host James Brown.

Since the Green Bay Packers are meeting the Pittsburgh Steelers in the upcoming SuperBowl XLV, I was curious to see what the football experts had to say about each team.  A short interview with GB Packer’s star Middle Linebacker (ML), A.J. Some restaurant locations just seem to have bad location karma.  Or maybe they have bad Feng Shui.

Such a restaurant location exists in the North Dallas area near the corner of Midway and Park.  It’s a very busy intersection close to a very large church with a Starbucks right across the street and a range of local eateries ranging from Pei Wei to Dickey’s BBQ and even a Dunkin Donuts.

Initially the current location of a Mama’s Daughter’s Diner located at 6509 W Park Boulevard used to be a Chuck’s hamburger restaurant.  When Chuck’s first opened it was jammed with people enjoying the old rock and roll music, the video game room and the decent old fashioned burgers.

The restaurant required you to order at the counter and then wait for your number to be called.  They specialized in old fashioned ice cream drinks such as authentic Oreo Cookies n Cream.
