Laura Linney (born February 5, 1964) is delightful as Cathy in The Big C on Showtime.  The show is finishing up it’s second amazing season with Laura doing an amazing heartfelt job as a woman battling skin cancer.

As a full time high school teacher and part time swimming coach (in Season 2) Cathy is working in order to keep her health insurance for her cancer treatments due to the recent layoff of her husband Paul.

Cathy wears her below-the-shoulder blond hued hair in relatively simple hairstyles much like you would expect any teacher.  Depending on the season of the year Laura’s base color transitions between a lighter and darker golden wheat.

Laura’s acting is mesmerizing.  As a result of her amazing portrayal Laura is said to be the heavy favorite in winning the Emmy for leading actress in a comedy.

Although the experts are picking Laura to win for her role in The Big C (Laura won the Golden Globe for her work as Cathy) she is competing against an amazing group of actresses including Tina Fey for 30 Rock, Edie Falco for Nurse Jackie, Melissa McCarthy of Mike and Molly, Matha Plimpton of Raising Hope and Amy Poehler of Parks and Recreation. Carrie Underwood told the media that the clothes she wore on American Idol (AI) were largely picked by producers.  She also explained that she has a terrible time dealing with her hair.

Why?  It’s not really naturally straight, but it’s also not really naturally curly either.

In a past interview with CMT, the singer walked readers through images that appeared in a past issue of Allure Magazine titled “Carrie Underwood: Style Timeline.”

According to Carrie, her  AI outfits were chosen by the show’s producers. “Yeah,” Carrie explains. “I’m sure they picked the clothes.”

Jane Lynch Hated Her Permed Hair

Jane Lynch is featured in the September 12th issue of People Magazine for her new memoir titled Happy Accidents.

Jane shares about her early life growing up in Dolton, Illinois where she was uncomfortable in her own skin and ashamed she was gay.  She told People Magazine “I was different from everyone we knew.  I wanted to fit.”

She told People’s Oliver Jones that “If I could go back in time and talk to my twenty-year-old self, the first thing I would say (to myself) is:  “Lose the perm.”

In light of her memoir where Jane shares how much she wanted to look like the quintessential sixties man, very Mad Men, it must have been torture to spot a permed hairstyle in the mirror.  No man would adopt a permed look without a lot of angst.

A perm is definitely a hair history that haunts many people.  Ellen Degeneres often shows a photo of herself in her younger years wearing a big permed hairstyle.

These days Jane is famous for her short, chic and sassy cropped blonde hairstyle.  It suits her personality perfectly.  I can only imagine how traumatic a perm would be for the Jane who we all know and love on Glee.

Farrah Fawcett Hair On Original Charlie’s Angels

Actress Farrah Fawcett (February 2, 1947 – June 25, 2009) was a multiple Golden Globe and Emmy Award nominee. She rose to international acclaim when she appeared in 1976 as Jill Munroe in the first season of TV’s Charlie’s Angels.

She was billed as Farrah Fawcett-Majors when she appeared as a private investigator for the famous Townsend Agency. Although she’s closely associated with Charlie’s Angels it’s difficult to believe she was only on the show for its first year, in 1976.

Due to requirements of a contract settlement over her appearance on the show Fawcett returned for six guest appearances over seasons three and four of the series which ran for a total of 5 seasons.

When the blonde beauty unveiled her heavily layered and winged long hairstyle, she triggered an International hair craze, with women sporting a “Farrah Do” or “Farrah Hair.” Iterations of her hair style predominated American women’s hair styles well into the 1980s. Vienna Girardi And Bachelor Pad Ladies Showcase Chunky Braids

While various types of chunky braids have been hot for years now, check out how these Bachelor Pad women who recently put their own twist on the popular hairstyle trend while competing for love and money on ABC’s Reality TV show.

Vienna Girardi, who retired her long below-the-shoulder golden blonde hair after her time on The Bachelor with Jake, now has a chin length choppy bob.  Vienna’s hair is now a light beach blonde base with lighter highlights and some darker low lights.

Vienna appeared at last week’s Kissing Challenge wearing her blonde tresses hair  in a chunky French style braid extending off from her hairline and directed off to one side.  Her braid formed a chic headband.
