How Brands Can Build Long Term Relationships With Bloggers

How Brands Can Build Long Term Relationships With Bloggers

How Brands Can Build Long Term Relationships With BloggersI have the unique advantage of being both a long term blogger and the owner of HairBoutique.com which is a brand in its own right.

I understand both sides of the coins of how brands and bloggers can live happily ever together.  It doesn’t have to be hair or beauty bloggers.  It can be in any genre.

1. Start off on the right foot – Avoid spamming or posting unsolicited advertising in a blogger comment sections.  Some brands will post comments and then embed links to their websites, products or online stores.  Not only will you risk annoying the blogger, you may end a long term relationship before it starts.

2.  Make proper introductions – Let the blogger know that you wish to establish a long term relationship rather than just lurking around or popping in or out.   If possible contact them via email, Twitter or some other avenue to let them know you admire their blog and would love to work with them long term. Once you have established the relationship then go from there. Continue reading “How Brands Can Build Long Term Relationships With Bloggers” »

This Blog Is Not Just About Hair!

Thursday, April 1st, 2010

This Blog Is Not Just About Hair!Yes, it’s true I have spent the last 25 years consumed with all aspects of hair.

Although my original college studies were not in the hair, beauty or fashion worlds,  I’ve gone to two different wonderful cosmetology colleges here in Dallas, received a license to do hair and continued to take ongoing hair classes, both for certification and to continue advancing my hair and beauty education.

Someone recently commented that this blog was only about hair.  Actually that’s not true at all.  If you visit on a regular basis you already know that.

While the HairBoutique.com site has literally thousands of articles specifically about hair, hair loss, hair styling, hair trends, this blog is not specifically limited to hair.  Continue reading “This Blog Is Not Just About Hair!” »

Selena Gomez’ Hairstyle At 2009 AMA Awards – Steal Her Style

Tuesday, November 24th, 2009

Selena Gomez Hairstyle At 2009 AMA Awards Steal Her StyleDisney beauty Selena Gomez looked adorable in a gathered sequined silver hued mini dress that glimmered against the light on the Red Carpet.  The mass of sequins caught the light during the actual AMA ceremony when she glided onto the stage presenting an award.

The silver hue of her gown was a perfect contrast to her dark hair and peaches and cream complexion.

The short sassy belted dress was designed by Talbot Runhof although the 17-year-old Wizards Of Waverly Place confessed on the Red Carpet she didn’t know how to pronounce the name of the label.

Selena’s Hairstyle

Selena Gomez Hairstyle At 2009 AMA Awards Steal Her StyleThe cutie wore her silky and shiny raven black tresses with a side part and a pulled back, side-swept off-the-forehead fringe which cascaded into a gorgeous curly, sexy, tousled hairdo which extended just past her chin.

Soft curls were added from the top of the ear to the ends to showcase her precision cut longer layers and achieve a perfectly balanced finish.  Selena’s hairstyle can be easily re-created with medium sized hot rollers, a wet set or a medium barrel curling iron.

How To Instantly Recreate Selena Gomez’s AMA Hairstyle

If you love Selena’s hairstyle and want to re-create it but don’t have the patience to wash, blow dry, hot roll or hot iron you have the option to instantly recreate her hairstyle by utilizing a clip-in HairDo Hair Extension from the Ken Paves/Jessica Simpson line.

You have the option to clip-in either a 100% human hair extension that is the same length as Selena’s or you can go with a pre-curled synthetic version in a wide range of colors.  You can match the clip-in to your own fringe and hairline hair hues. #FollowFriday On Twitter – 60 Hair, Beauty & Fashion Tweeple To Follow & Why

Friday, May 15th, 2009

#FollowFriday On Twitter 60 Hair, Beauty & Fashion Tweeple To Follow & WhyI’m a huge Twitterholic.  Even though in a way you could call me one of the old ladies of the Web since I’ve been around since the mid 1990s, I really never got fired up about Web2.0.  I tried but it just didn’t catch my initial interest.

Yes, I have a Linkedin Account, a Facebook account and have proudly had some of my articles reprinted on MySpace because HairBoutique has had a MySpace account as soon as it was permitted.  I also had an account on SecondLife right after the site was opened and HairBoutique had an initial storefront we took down before anyone else in the hair industry even knew about SecondLife.

Although I love the Web and am in some circles considered an early adopter with HairBoutique.com and HairTalk, I never got the Social Netorking bug until Twitter. Continue reading “#FollowFriday On Twitter – 60 Hair, Beauty & Fashion Tweeple To Follow & Why” »

The Girl With No Name Whose Tweets On Twitter Helped Me Change My Life For The Better

Thursday, May 7th, 2009

The Girl With No Name Whose Tweets On Twitter Helped Me Change My Life For The BetterAs I reported in a recent blog, I am a full-blown workaholic.  Considering my prior addictions which, through the grace of God, Twelve Step Programs and a fabulous sponsor,  I have managed to abstain from for over 20 years, work is the lesser of all my evils.

I do need to mention the fact that I love my work which consists of writing and running HairBoutique.  Both of these tasks are pure fun and I feel blessed to have these opportunities in my life.

I Am Committed To Getting Enough Restful Sleep

When I’m in my work mania mode, I am having so much fun writing or tweeting or doing whatever, I don’t want to take the time to eat healthy, exercise or take time for me.  I have learned over the years I must get enough sleep because if I don’t my skin, hair and nails start to rebel.  I also find I am better able to write and think when I have had a good 7-8 hours of restful sleep.  As a result, I religiously honor a set bedtime and have learned what things to do to fall asleep quickly and get productive sleep.
