Lauren Conrad 18 Inch Taped Hair Extensions

Lauren Conrad (LC) loves to change up her hair by transitioning through an array of dramatic lengths, colors, textures and hairstyles.

To achieve her constantly changing hairstyles LC wears an array of hair extensions which dates back to her time on MTV’s “The Hills.”

On July 19th of 2011 Lauren appeared at the HTC Hosts the “HTC Status Social” in Los Angeles with very long hair extensions highlighted with an array of light turquoise blue strands.

On November 9th the reality TV star, author and fashion designer appeared with her hair infused with waves, but several inches shorter than at the July 19th event.  The blue highlights were no longer visible.

Did LC get her hair cut?  It’s unlikely.

It’s most likely she had her longtime hairstylist Kristin Ess of Warren-Tricomi salon in LA shorten the hair extensions she regularly wears.

I had a rare opportunity to catch up with Sherri today where she graciously shared some of her vast wisdom about the hair industry, her long relationship representing Rusk and her goals for the immediate future.

Reality Star Audrina Patridge is famous for her long sexy hairstyles and hair hues.

Patridge recently took her trademark long lush beachy waves to a softer, lighter hue cascading from an off-center part.  Her latest hair color incarnation works well with her perpetually tanned skin.  The lighter hue also plays well with her eyes and lips.

Audrina admits on her official blog “I feel my hair is usually my biggest flaw!  My hair is actually naturally super straight! I don’t own a hair straightener.  I wish I had wavy hair. I usually put a wave in it, put it up in a pony tail or clip it half way back!”

As far as her natural hair and eye color, Audrina admits “I’m naturally a dirty blonde. My eyes are hazel, but at times look brown, amber or green. So when it comes to coloring my hair, I sometimes go dark which brings out the green.  But I tend to not ask for a specific color, – I like honey tones.”

Hair How To: Step By Step

To copy Audrina’s lightly tousled beachy waves, start with a toffee or caramel base infused with platinum highlights.

1.  Cleanse hair in lukewarm water with desired methodology such as shampoo, Diluted Shampoo (DS), Conditioner Only (CO), Water Only (WO), Lo Poo, No Poo or a combination.   Select the best products for your hair type, texture and condition.

2.  Rinse well.  Apply desired leave-in conditioner from the ears down to the ends.  With the conditioner still in the hair, use fingers or hair-friendly wide tooth comb to detangle.  Start from the ends and work slowly and gently up towards the roots. According to an interview with MODERN SALON, celebrity hairstylist Orlando Pita says that Kate Winslet’s hair was cut for the British Vogue cover.

He told MODERN “I think Kate is very versatile and can wear many different looks.  We chose this look because the photographer Mario Testino wanted to giver her a very different look.  The fashion in the story was black and white so we decided to go with almost white hair and cut it short and choppy.”

Pita, a celebrity hair consultant on Bravo’s recent season of Shear Genius, also noted the Academy Award winner’s hair on British Vogue was a dramatic departure from her former shoulder length, dirty blonde locks.

Of course transitioning hair color from dirty blonde to stark white was shocking to fans as was the short choppy hair which many questioned.  Did Kate really cut her hair or not?  After all, many celebrities over the years have stunned fans with a drastic new length or color only to confess later to wearing a wear, hair extensions or some other instant hair altering accessory.

Jessica Simpson famously shocked fans a few years ago by showing up at a red carpet event wearing a drastic new red hair hue.

Shortly afterwards her celebrity hairstylist Ken Paves explained he and Simpson had collaborated on her stunning new do by having her wear a new wig from her Jessica Simpson collection.  Simpson also told the media she used powder mascara to camouflage any random blonde roots that might have popped out from the wig.
