In last night’s edition of Dancing With The Stars (DWTS) it was revealed that Pro Dancer Derek Hough had to step out from the competition temporarily because he had the flu.

It’s so important for me to stay well to keep up with HairBoutique.com and my other responsibilities so when I feel a cold or virus about to hit I follow the following steps which seem to personally help me:

1.  Amp up the Vitamin C. I like the powdered versions and will take them with plain water to help my body absorb the vitamin as fast as possible.  Although it’s never been conclusively proven that Vitamin C fights colds or wards off symptoms, the evidence swings back and forth.  It’s safe to take up to 1,000 mg.  (more…)

On the Today Show, the second hour, co-hosts Kathie Lee Gifford and Hoda started their show by “defending Jessica Simpson.”  Although I wasn’t away of the cartoon which was shown on Fox/TV last Sunday on October 11th which made fun of Jessica’s up and down weight as well as her past relationship with Tony Roma.

Kathie Lee and Hoda said someone has to stick up for Jessica Simpson because she has done anything to anyone.  Kathie Lee and Hoda ask why is she getting picked up on?  However, Kathie Lee and Hoda both said the “guys on their show were laughing” at the cartoon making fun of Jessica’s weight blowing up.

In fact, they admitted they were laughing even as the segment was being aired live.  At one point the co-hostesses threatened to name names of the guys laughing about Jessica.

The cartoon, which I caught when it aired, featured players from the Dallas Cowboys football team joking about Jessica’s  weight gain last Winter, which forced Jessica to fight off worldwide criticism that she was fat. (more…)

Any time I see any information about preventing heart attacks I stop and review the information.  Why?  My own beloved husband of almost 25 years died very suddenly of a massive coronary in early 2005.

He had been battling heart disease for over 10 years and we literally read all the research we could find to try and prevent what ultimately happened, yet the disease took his life long before I was ready to say good-bye and at a much too early age.
