Rewind the time machine to the time of beautiful blonde Jessica Simpson before her reality stardom on The Newlyweds, before she squeezed into those famous sexy Daisy Dukes and before she hit the road some months ago to work on her latest Reality TV venture.

By her side was Hollywood Mane Man Ken Paves who first met “his girl” Jess, as he affectionally calls her, during a bi-coastal hair emergency.  Receiving a call from her then-agents in New York, Ken was asked to catch a red eye to sew her hair back together after a horrible hair incident.

Ken spent the flight from LA to NYC hand sewing hair pieces together for the star he had not even yet met.  Once they did, it was Kismet.  They not only became instant BFFs, they eventually became business partners launching the wildly successful HairDo™ line under the HairUWear brands.

Through the years since that first meeting Ken has coiffed Jessica’s hair into an dizzying array of eye-popping, spectacular hairstyles in a wide range of hues (remember Jess in sultry red?), lengths and textures.  His work with Jessica’s tresses inspired Ken to ultimately partner with his famous client to design and create the latest HairDo™, Jessica Simpson wig and clip-on fringes since he would instantly transform Jess with all of those various hair accessories. As recently reported by the media, Hollywood Mane Man Ken Paves was traveling with Jessica Simpson around the world interviewing people about the true definition of beauty.  He was spotted in London on October 10th arriving at the world famous Heathrow Airport from Morocco.

Photogs were there waiting to catch a glimpse of Jessica Simpson and snapped Ken in the process.

Ironically the hair guru landed in one of the coolest cities on earth which is famous for pioneering some of the most famous hairstyles in the world.  Afterall, Vidal Sassoon got his start in London and Vidal is one of Ken’s hair idols.

Ironically London has become a mini-break destination, a playground for grown-ups.  The world loves a long weekend in New York but, these days, prefers to make its home in London. New York has the nostalgia, London the future. New York defines the metropolitan, London the cosmopolitan.

Yes, indeed, Ken was in a fabulous airport in a fabulous city.

Is Ken still in London?  No, I know for a fact the hair guru is back in the States and is hanging out in New York where I corresponded with him today (October 12, 2009).

Ken understands the importance of less is more and has advised Jessica to cut back on her shampoo sessions from a daily ritual to once a week when possible.

Many beauty experts and bloggers such as Beauty-Blogs.com suggest washing your hair less often to prevent ongoing hair problems like split ends or other potential damage.  Beauty-Blogs.com suggests “don’t wash your hair every day. Washing it will take away all the beneficial oils from your hair and consequently damage it.”

In fact, because Jess has chemically treated hair (with highlights and lowlights) which tends to be naturally dry, Ken encourages Jessica to cleanse her hair only 3-4 times a month. (more…)

Besides his long time clients Jennifer Lopez and Jessica Simpson, Ken has created eye popping, mouth dropping hairstyles for Eva Longoria Parker, Victoria Beckham, Christina Applegate, Lady GaGa, Megan Fox and Kim Kardashian.

The Hollywood hairdresser said “go for a very fresh and modern, effortless look,” He believes in keeping things easy.  He said “Try bangs and more layers than usual for a glamorous yet ‘undone’ modern shag. The key to this look is to keep it simple and natural.” (more…)
