DIY Home Whitening Tips And Tricks

DIY Home Whitening Tips And TricksDIY Home Whitening Tips And Tricks

Almost two years ago I gave up coffee and red wine, but I still can’t seem to kick my love of iced tea.  I live in Texas where iced tea is served by the gallon and it’s the best tea ever.

Unfortunately, tea can stain teeth.  As a result I’m aways looking for some DIY tips on how to get my teeth as white as possible without shelling out some big bucks for professional whitening.

One popular inexpensive teeth whitening trick is to combine ordinary baking soda with strawberries which combined to form a malic acid which removed surface discoloration.

While this is a very inexpensive way to brighten teeth, dentists warn that if done too often the acid could permanent damage the enamel on your teeth. (more…)

NEW TECHNOLOGY MAKES DENTIST VISITS FASTER, EASIER
2011 COSMETIC DENTISTRY SURVEY PATIENT & INDUSTRY TRENDS

Eliminate Wrinkles At The Same Time You Visit The Dentist?MADISON, Wis. (March 8, 2011) – It used to be that eating apples was just a great way to strengthen your teeth. Now more cosmetic dentists are using the Apple iPad and other technologies to make visits quicker and easier.

Sixty-three percent of cosmetic dentists say they expect their business to experience at least moderate growth in 2011 and technology is the number one game-changer predicted to help the industry grow, according to a new survey from the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry® (AACD).

COMPUTING YOUR WAY TO A NEW SMILE

New technologies are cutting down patient office time at least 50 percent, increasing patient safety, and making the whole dental process easier and more comfortable, the survey says. In 2011, dentists say there will be increased use of:

iPADS and iPHONES: cosmetic dentists are citing a wide range of uses from charting, displaying x-rays, and managing dental records to improving diagnoses and educating their patients. Multiple new apps are also emerging including an iPhone calculator that’s helping cosmetic dentists analyze and plan new smiles for patients.

Dentists are also using smartphone apps to connect with patients – set and confirm appointments, learn about the office staff, request medication refills, and more.

DIGITAL X-RAYS: cosmetic dentists get a clearer picture of problems, such as an abscess or decay that has formed, in a much shorter time than with the older version of x-rays. (more…)

How Calcium Helps Hair Growth, Prevents Hair Loss And Enriches Your Houseplants

How Calcium Helps Hair Growth, Prevents Hair Loss And Enriches Your HouseplantsIf you do a search on the web about the importance of calcium for healthy hair, you will find enough contradictions to make you want to pull your hair out.  Of course I’m joking, but the reality is that there is a lot of misinformation about the importance of calcium for healthy hair and the avoidance of hair loss.

(Hair by Barbara Lhotan – All Rights Reserved)

What’s the real answer?  Calcium plays a part in the growth of healthy hair because its part of the big picture of incorporating a well-balanced nutritional plan into any hair growth or hair loss prevention program.

Calcium alone is not the major bullet that will instantly stop hair loss or grow six inches of hair overnight.  However, if there is a calcium imbalance it can definitely have an impact on the growth of healthy hair.

Should you talk calcium pills?  If your physician or nutritional consultant recommends it then by all means you should.  However, taking calcium pills for the primary purpose of growing hair or preventing hair loss would be much less beneficial.  Incorporating calcium rich foods into your daily diet is much more beneficial for your hair, skin, nails and teeth. Brightening Your Appearance This Summer By Brightening Your Smile

New York – April 28, 2010

As the sunny days of summer take hold and we rush to the gym to take off those extra 10 pounds to look fit and fab for the beach or pool, many overlook a critical way to brighten your appearance, build your self confidence and exude a look of health and wellness – - enhancing your smile.

While having the right wardrobe, accessories and hair style for summer all play a role in a bright appearance, surveys reveal that one of the first things people notice about others is their smile.

According to Dr. Timothy Chase, a 15-year veteran of cosmetic dentistry, a healthy smile, white teeth and healthy gums can take 10 years off your appearance.

Dr. Chase, D.M.D., is a practicing partner at SmilesNY, a leading cosmetic dentistry practice in New York City. He has made it his life’s work to educate patients about the significance of possessing a healthy smile as a critical indicator of overall health and wellness.

Dr. Chase advocates that cosmetic dentistry should offer solutions starting with the least invasive solution to enhance a patient’s appearance. While many consumers are quick to ask for dental veneers, in numerous situations, whitening or simple orthodontics could dramatically improve their smile and last a lifetime.

Dr. Chase offers his recommendations for procedures that can be performed by a cosmetic dentist that will take years off your appearance and will build confidence through obtaining a healthy smile. (more…)
