Rodney Cutler is an Australian celebrity hair stylist and the founder of the three current Cutler salons which includes the first one on 57th Street New York City, Cutler Soho and the newest, The Cutler Salon in Miami, Florida.

Rodney who is a known workaholic has long been a spokesperson for the Redken line of hair care products for years and has his own line of amazing haircare products - Cutler - which wins kudos for all the major fashion and beauty magazine.

I have been hearing about Rodney for years and knew he was the Mane Man for Rachel Ray who he came up through the celebrity ranks with.

Recently I had a chance to chat with Rodney’s business manager and she was delightful.

Northern American Hairstyling Awards - NAHA 2009 - Cosmoprof North America - Las Vegas, Nevada

The Northern American Hairstyling Awards (NAHA) were held July 19, 2009 in Las Vegas at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center.  NAHA was celebrating their 20th anniversary in existence.

To honor the event a new NAHA Award was presented.  The first annual Beautiful Humanitarian Award (BHA) was presented to the gorgeous blonde Nancy O’Dell of Access Hollywood for her tireless dedication to charitable work for a number of worthwhile causes.

Sarah Jessica Parker or SJP, as she is affectionally called by the media, is a prime example of of George Herbert’s famous quote which is “living well is the best revenge.”

The ultimate glamazon who ushered high fashion into the mainstream during her reign as Carrie Bradshaw on the famous Sex And The City (SATC) series, has definitely paid her dues in every area of her life.

To an unaware outsider Sarah Jessica’s charmed life might appear to be the result of good genes, timing and good fortune.  But this is definitely not the case.  And not by a long stretch.

The naturally curly haired actress, fashion icon and savvy business woman has endured years of poverty (her early life), being considered the ugly duckling with a strong female nerd side and lots of hounding by the papparrazzi.  She has also been the subject of untrue and unkind rumors about her personal life, working relationships on SATC and her marriage.  She was also labeled as “unsexy” by Maxim Magazine which she found “hurtful”.

Ellen Degeneres loves to call people on the phone. Recently she called Academy Award winner Sean Penn for his recent win as Best Actor for his role on Milk.  Ellen played a clip of Sean making his acceptance speech.  When the clip was over Ellen said to her audience “what a great guy.”

She picked up her phone and dialed.  Actor Sean Penn answered the phone and Ellen said “hey, It’s Ellen calling.  Hi.” Sean sounded excited “hi, how are you?  Ellen said “I’m fine.”

Ellen told Sean “the audience is just cheering you right now.  It probably sounded like static. But they’re just cheering.”

He laughed as she said “so we just watched the clip of you accepting again. And I just. Congratuations.  First of all I guess what you hope,  I hope more people go see this movie now.  Not just that you won the award.  That more people will take an interest in seeing it.”   Sean agreed “well yes, now that would be lovely.” (more…)

Patrice Bisiot aka “the Jet Set Stylist from Paris,” made celebrities red carpet ready at the annual pre-Oscars TMG Luxury Suite.

Bisiot transformed the hair of Christian De La Fuente (Dancing With The Stars), Shanti Lowry (The Game), Lisa Raye (Beauty Shop), Jason Kennedy (E! News). Other talent that stopped by to dish with Bisiot included, Loveleen Tandon (co-director Slumdog Millionaire) Fox 11 News Anchor Christine Devine, and Extra’s Mario Lopez.

“I’m an avid trend watcher,” said Bisiot. “The key thing for me though is to make the client look their best. It’s not always about the current trend. It’s about what makes each of them gorgeous,” Bisiot added. His styling ranged from messy bouffant styles both up and down, to casually elegant do’s accented with soft curls. Nothing “too done” to quote Bisiot.

Bisiot earned his moniker “Jet Set Stylist” from his non-stop travels to private clients in Beverly Hills, Paris, New York, Miami, Rio De Janeiro, Mexico City, and London. Bisiot owns and operates a salon in Miami, with a Beverly Hills location opening this year.
