J.R. Martinez To Be First Time Father
J.R. Martinez, 28, won the hearts of Dancing With The Stars (DWTS) fans and viewers and ultimately snagged the Mirror Ball Trophy with his partner Karina Smirnoff.
Now the Iraz war veteran has announced that he and his girlfriend Diana Gonzalez-Jones are expecting their first child — a girl — next spring.
Martinez tweeted the news on Saturday “First thing that crossed my mind when we found out we were having a girl: All the #emotional feelings, all the #beautyproducts, and the #OMG’s.”
Martinez and Gonzalez-Jones met on the set of soap opera’s All My Children in 2008. He landed an acting role and she was working on set as an assistant.
Although Martinez and Gonzalez-Jones were only friends for two years, to avoid crossing the workplace lines, he told Access Hollywood that the friendship changed into something more.
“Finally, something happened, something clicked, and I just said, ‘[Do] you ever look at me differently than just a friend?’ And she kind of paid attention to it, and here we are! It’s great.”
