Would You Drive Off Cliff For Sake Of Beautiful Straight Hair

Would You Drive Off Cliff For Sake Of Beautiful Straight Hair

Would You Drive Off Cliff For Sake Of Beautiful Straight Hair

Truck Going Off Clip From 101 Ways To Leave A Game Show

Hopefully no one would ever seriously consider driving off a cliff if they thought it would guarantee that they would have beautiful straight hair.  Sometimes I seriously wonder.

If the right celebrity or the highest profile magazines promoted driving off a cliff and promised it would give you beautiful straight hair, a new Porsche in your driveway, a hot reality TV star boyfriend or becoming instant BFFs with The Kardashians there might be a line forming at the designated cliff.

Of course it wouldn’t be just any cliff if it was being promoted by celebrities and fashion, beauty and hair magazines.  It would have to be the right cliff that was celebrity and media approved.

And yes, you would need the right vehicle for driving off the cliff.  No doubt there.

Okay, I’m being very sarcastic, but after discovering that ABC’s reality TV show – 101 Ways To Leave A Game Show – had eager participants willing to be strapped to the wings of a biplane, run over by a monster truck or launched off a 350 foot cliff in the back of a pickup truck (see image to the side) in order to have a chance at winning $50,000 – I would not be surprised to hear of people driving off a cliff for beautiful straight hair. Big Brother’s Shelly Moore Victim Of Death Threats Over Jeff Schroeder Eviction

Big Brother’s Shelly Moore Victim Of Death Threats Over Jeff Schroeder Eviction

Big Brothers Shelly Moore Victim Of Death Threats Over Jeff Schroeder EvictionThe media has been reporting today that Big Brother house guest Shelly Moore and her family are receiving death threats over her back stabbing vote to evict Jeff Schroeder from the BB house last week.

I’m not surprised at all.  Not even a little bit.  I can only imagine the choice words fans of Jeff Schroeder have called Shelly Moore.  I think death threats are inappropriate and wrong, but Shelly Moore will probably go down in Big Brother history as the most hated house guest for her actions against Jeff.

While it’s unfortunate that some BB fans have gone too far in their rage against Shelly Moore for her action, I know some of the fans are more obsessed than even the most obsessed sports fans.

Big Brother producer Allison Grodner who has made very brief appearances at various times on the BB set should be filming me and my friends as we watch Big Brother, Big Brother After Dark on Showtime and Big Brother Live Feeds.  She would understand how fans react to this show.

We literally go nuts while watching all the variations of this show.  Don’t ask me why.  It can’t be explained unless you are a super fan like me and my friends. Continue reading “Big Brother’s Shelly Moore Victim Of Death Threats Over Jeff Schroeder Eviction” »

Brazilian Blowout Hair Straightener Recalled Due To Danger Of Toxicity

Sunday, August 28th, 2011

Brazilian Blowout Hair Straightener Recalled Due To Danger Of ToxicityThe Australian government believes that untold Australians may have been exposed to a toxic hair-straightening product that includes 50 times the safe level of formaldehyde – a chemical known to cause cancer.

Haircare Australia, a company that provides products to more than 5500 hairdressers across the country, has recalled 158 bottles of ”Brazilian Blowout” after the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission discovered its high formaldehyde content. Less than half of the bottles – just 77 – have been retrieved.

ACCC documents revealed the commission was concerned because ”there is a substantial degree of scientific evidence that formaldehyde can be a dangerous substance, can be toxic, allergenic and carcinogenic, and when inhaled can cause headaches, a burning sensation in the throat and difficulty with breathing”.

The action comes after recalls of seven other hair-straightening products over the last two years in Australia because of excessive formaldehyde. The latest recall also comes after US politicians recently called for better regulation and labeling of such products because of fears formaldehyde was making people sick. Presidential Candidates With Best Hair Aren’t Guaranteed A Win

Presidential Candidates With Best Hair Aren’t Guaranteed A Win

Presidential Candidates With Best Hair Arent Guaranteed A WinColumnist Peter Funt wrote a column titled Hair Raising which was published in The Wall Street Journal on August 22nd.   Funt put forth the treatise that the winner in presidential elections is often the guy (or gal) with the best haircut.

Is this true?  Funt is not some kind of crazy political scientist.  Nor is he a right-win loon who seriously believes that hair follicles have anything to do with winning the highest office in the land.

Funt was simply sharing a political parody.  He had no political agenda whatsoever.  If anything, he was demonstrating how the filter through which many people now evaluate news and related information is clouded by bias.  As a result, Funt argues that the news content and info, especially provided via the Web and cable-TV is becoming dangerously devalued.

Funt has hit the nail on the head in pointing out the devaluation of information provided on the Web and through cable.

The devaluation of news content which Funt points to isn’t limited to just political news.  It actually covers every imaginable topic from politics to hair, beauty, fashion and health care.

Misinformation is one of the most dangerous trends on the Internet today.  It’s no surprise that Funt’s innocent attempt at political satire about the high priced coifs of  politicians spiraled out of control.  The lines between new fluff and read news  were crossed.  Although Funt was obviously poking fun at hair worn by presidential candidates, his lighthearted hair banter was referenced as serious.
