Leah Michelle is famous for her vocal talents on Glee but she’s almost as well-known for her stunning deep chocolate brunette tresses.  Michelle is constantly changing up her hairstyles to harmonize with her fashions and Red Carpet events.

Leah showcased one of her most iconic hairstyles at the 2011 Grammy Awards when she rocked long 70s style wave infused tresses which cascaded from an off-center part.  Her waves were a combination of soft curves and barely there curls along the perimeter of her hairstyle.

How To – Step By Step

Follow the steps below to copy Leah’s Long 70s Wave Hairstyle How To

1. Cleanse hair in lukewarm water with a volume enhancing product. Utilize the cleansing system which works best for your hair type, texture, length and condition. You may prefer to do a full shampoo, diluted shampoo (DS), low poo, conditioner only wash (CO) water only (WO) or a combination of the various options.Lea Michelles Long 70s Wave Hairstyle How To2. Rinse cleansing formula from hair. If your hair needs conditioner, apply a light conditioning product from the top of your ears down to the ends. Optionally you can apply the conditioner to the ends only.
3. Once the rinse out conditioner is apply to strands, detangle with a wide tooth comb or fingers from the ends up to the roots.
4. Finish with a cool or cold water rinse to seal cuticles and amp up volume for a super lush look.
5. Towel blot to remove excess moisture. Apply styling cocktail which may include a light leave-in conditioner, defrisant and a volumizer to damp roots. You may also wish to layer on a heat protection spray as well.
7. Separate damp strands into 8 horizontal sections.
8. Blow dry each individual section with a boar bristle round brush pulling sections up to create maximum volume and lift.
9. Once hair is 100% dry twist varying sized sections no larger than 1″ squares and wrap the section down the length of a 1 1/2″ to 2″ iron. For added curl setting strength spray each section with hairspray prior to wrapping.
10.  Release the newly formed curl from the curling iron.  Repeat the same styling steps on the entire head of hair.

12.  Remove all the clips and work a tiny, pea-sized amount of styling cream or shine serum through hands.
13.  Break up newly formed curls with fingertips.
14.  Finish with a light mist of styling hairspray.

To get more lift from the roots use a 1 1/2″ curling iron or large hot rollers to add more volume.  You can also spray fingers with volume enhancing hairspray and rake fingers through the strands pushing tresses off the face.

Thank you for visiting our Blog and for your kind comments. They are very much appreciated.

I also love Lea’s many hairstyles, this one included. She is lucky to have an amazing hairstylist she works with so that probably helps a little bit. :-)

    Have a lovely week.
