Oprah Shows World Her Naturally Curly Hair

Oprah Shows World Her Naturally Curly HairNow that Oprah is officially off the air I miss her.  Those years flew by.  And no, the repeats just don’t do.

Not everyone was a fan of Oprah Winfrey and I didn’t love all of her shows, but I did love here authenticity.  I loved how Oprah was willing to tackle all of own personal demons including her weight and her hair.  One of her best moments, and there were many, over the past 25 years was when she showed the world her naturally curly hair.

A few years at the end of one of her Oprah Fridays Live she addressed the rumors that she wore weaves instead of her “real hair”.  She told her audience “this is not a weave!” and proceeded to show a photo of her naturally curly hair.

The queen of TV talk said “Am I wearing a weave? Everybody’s like, ‘Oprah, we love your weave.’ This is not a weave, this is my hair,” Winfrey announced, before putting up a photo of herself with pre-pressed and pre-curled hair.

Best friend and Friday co-host Gayle King yelled “Yowzer!”

Yes indeed, Oprah was willing for the world to see her hair in all its natural glory.  How can you not miss a woman so willing to strip her secrets bare to the world?

She certainly is an amazing lady. I was never a big fan (but I am not a fan of anybody in particular either) but I understand why so many would love her and I certainly admire her many honest attributes.
