Embrace Your Natural Curl this Season!
With warm weather on the horizon this spring and summer, a raise in temp can lead to some very scary hair situations. Especially for those with wavy or curly hair, the thought of frizzy, unruly tresses is enough to sometimes wish for winter back.
In Light of Harmful Straightening Treatments, CURLS Founder Has the Answers
With many straightening treatments being “outed” as harmful for your hair, CURLS founder Mahisha Dellinger dishes on why it’s important and beautiful to get in touch with those natural locks!
According to Mahisha, the problem comes from many professionals downplaying the “minimal” amount of formaldehyde in straightening treatments. Isn’t any amount too much?
Mahisha proposes a formaldehyde-free solution that may be radical to some … embrace your natural curl pattern! Limited natural hair product options in the past made it difficult to achieve great curls in the midst of frizz.
In fact, Mahisha explains that frizz is associated with damage and constantly straightening curly hair will eventually cause more damage, which will in time lead back to frizz. Talk about a vicious cycle!
But today, there’s no reason to put your tresses through unnecessary straightening stress. Using quality curly hair products on a regular basis for your naturally kinky, wavy, curly hair is a wise idea! Their long-term benefits stem from the fact that they are formulated with rich, natural humectants, true organic moisturizers, as well as curl enhancers. Don’t justify formaldehyde, embrace natural!
It’s as easy as 1-2-3, well and 4 if you do it the CURLS way!
Step 1: Cleanse – Cleanse with a sulfate-free cleanser, such as CURLS Curlicious Curls Cleansing Cream. They are less damaging and gentler to hair than the many shampoos available that contain harmful sulfates.
Step 2: Condition – Condition hair with a moisturizing conditioner, chock full of natural and organic ingredients. CURLS Coconut Sublime Moisturizing Conditioner is perfect for superior hydration.
Step 3: Moisturize – Hydration is key to keeping your curls defined and frizz-free. CURLS Quenched Curls Moisturizer is a perfect added layer of moisture as well as a second day refresher to skip washing.
Step 4: Style – Find a styler that’s just right for you. Not all curls are the same, they are as unique as the individual they belong to. Choose a styler formulated with organic and natural ingredients that will give you the hold, definition and outcome that your hair prefers. CURLS Cashmere Curls is the brand’s newest styler for softening, repairing, strengthening and defining your curls.

Here’s a brqnd new alternative I just tried called Anevolve Control Zero. It says it’s a no formaldehyde keratin straightener and it really works. I had it 6 weeks ago and everyone comments on my hair. I never wanted pin straight hair and this keeps just the curliness I want with no poson nd it keeps on working. Ask around and see if you can find it. I’m in Florida and it was hard to find here but it was worth it!
