An image speaks a thousand words. To make sure your stylist understands the haircut you desire, print out and take a few large sized images of Cate showing the front, sides and back of her hairstyle. 5. Apply equal parts of pomade and strong hold gel to create a quarter-size dollop of product. Mix together in the palms of your hands to distribute and activate.
6. Use fingers to apply to the tips of the hair all over the head as well as along the front of the hairline to encourage lift and volume.
7. Blow dry hair straight using a 100% boar bristle small round brush. Use brush and fingers to pull strands out and down. Direct blow dryer nozzle down to keep hair sleek and avoid fly-a-way strands from forming.
8. Once hair is 100% dry touch up hair with a desired iron to add volume or straighten.
9. Add intense shine by apply a drop of shine serum to the palms of your hands and massaging together. Swipe over the top of the finished style. Remember a little bit goes a long way. Avoid overusing serum for short hairstyles like this one.
Change up Cate’s look by add two sparkly crystal encrusted bobbies, small clips or barrettes stacked together above the ear to hold back one side or the longer piece. Or pull tresses completely back with a thin metal or elastic headband or two.
