Glee’s Ratings Slide, But Still Beat V’s Finale

Glees Ratings Slide, But Still Beat Vs Finale Glees Ratings Slide, But Still Beat Vs Finale Glees Ratings Slide, But Still Beat Vs Finale

Glees Ratings Slide, But Still Beat Vs FinaleAlthough the Gleeks are still holding on, for a third straight night, 8 PM TV shows showed declines across the board.  Could it be that viewers are adjusting to daylight saving time?  Or is there some other hidden issues?

Last night, TV usage was down 6% in the hour week-to-week, likely affecting Fox’s Glee and NBC’s The Biggest Loser, the only new offerings at 8 PM.

The mini-finale of Glee (4.0/13, 12.5 million), which officially starts a month-long hiatus before returning for its last batch of episodes for the season, was down 13% from last week.

The good news?  Glee was the highest-rated program of the night in the 18-49 demo.

At 9 PM, Raising Hope (2.5/7) was down 7%, but struggling mid-season comedy Traffic Light (1.6/5) reversed its ratings downslide, up 7% from last week. Fox (2.3/7, 6.6 million) won the night in 18-49.  I’m personally pulling for Raising Hope which is my new favorite laugh out loud show.

Following a No Ordinary Family repeat (0.9/3), the season finale of V (1.8/5) was up 6% from last week (though down 14% from last year’s finale.) V had a very depressing ending.  The aliens turned all the humans into zombies.  Were the writers taking a page from AMC’s zombie hit?  V’s finale plot was a big contrast with the uplifting conclusion of Glee with the club winning at regionals and getting a big trophy.

At 10 PM, Detroit 1-8-7 (1.3/4) was up 18% but it is probably too late to save the cop drama which has been rumored to be slated for cancellation.

NBC’s two-hour The Biggest Loser: Couples (2.7/8) was down 7% from last week. It was followed by a repeat of America’s Next Great Restaurant. CBS (10.8 million, 1.9/6) aired all repeats, but topping the night in total viewers.  CBS is definitely doing something right with their reruns.
