Nicole Kidman’s Sleek Playful Ponytail – How To Hairstyle

Nicole Kidman was one of five Oscar nominated actresses to watch at the 2011 Academy Awards.  She was nominated for Best Actress for her  spectacular acting role in Rabbit Hole.

In the film she plays a grieving mother whose young son dies accidentally.  The journey Nicole takes through her grief and how it impacts the relationships with her husband and other family members is heartbreaking to watch, but showcases her acting chops.

Sleek Playful Ponytail Hairstyle

Nicole obviously wanted to look her very best for the Oscars and Celebrity Hairstylist David Babaii accepted the challenge.  David wanted to achieve a sleek “Playful Ponytail” with a hint of Bridget Bardot for Nicole Kidman’s 2011 Oscar look.

How To: Step By Step

To achieve David’s look which was created on Nicole’s naturally curly tresses follow the steps below:

1.  David always begins every red carpet look with clean hair followed by applying an oil treatment to her entire head.

2.  Once the oil is applied, David is amazed at how Nicole’s beautiful red hair color looks so fresh and vibrant. The oil treatment also instantly absorbs leaving hair smooth and shiny.

3.  David then sectioned off a bang and cut a French fringe to frame Nicole’s face.

4.  Next, the celebrity stylist blow dried Nicole’s hair with the IT&LY HAIRFASHION Ionic Dryer that supplies super-fast drying power along with a large round brush.

5.  At the bang area, David gently bumped the ends under.

6.  After the hair was dried, he applied an additional amount of oil to create a smooth and shiny surface.

7.  To begin the “Playful Ponytail” up-do, he used his hands to sweep the hair into a ponytail creating a slight bump at the crown and securing with a band.

8.  To finish the French fringe, David added additional oil to his fingers to define.

Nicole looked spectacular as she walked the Red Carpet, did interviews as she held the hand of her sweet husband and at the Academy Awards.
