NASCAR.COM Launches the First and Only NASCAR Fantasy Game With Live Race Data as Part of its Scoring System

NASCAR Fantasy LIVE! to Provide Deeper Fan Engagement in the Short Term and Potentially Increased Interest in NASCAR in the Long Term

NASCAR.COM, the official online destination of NASCAR, announced today that it will be adding an innovative new fantasy game to its stable of live, in-race products. NASCAR Fantasy LIVE!, the first and only NASCAR fantasy game to offer live scoring during races, instantly becomes a one-of-a-kind experience providing deeper fan engagement for the sport’s millions of fans and potentially becomes, over time, a vehicle to help grow the sport among casual fans.

This interactive virtual competition, which allows players to accumulate points on an on-going basis throughout the race, will be the first and only NASCAR fantasy game with a scoring system that doesn’t focus simply on finishing position but rather on drivers’ in-race performance.

Professional Dancer Derek Hough has decided to leave Dancing With The Stars (DWTS), temporarily, to star in a Hollywood movie.  I for one am very sad since he’s my alltime favorite dancer on the show.  Although he’s only 25 years old, Derek is an incredible dancer.

The platinum blonde lifelong dancer helped Nicole Scherzinger, Brooke Burke and Jennifer Grey take home the coveted mirrorball trophy.   Derek has already started training for the movie by brushing up on his tap dancing.

The 25-year-old told People.com he had already put on about 10lbs of muscle for the upcoming film, ‘which is a lot for me.’   The movie focuses on two dancers embroiled in a Romeo and Juliet-style romance.

January 31, 2011 – Oscar Night® America 2011 to Benefit Charities Nationwide

Beverly Hills, CA – On Sunday, February 27, charities in 50 cities will host official Oscar® viewing parties during the 83rd Academy Awards® ceremony as part of Oscar Night America (ONA), the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences’ grassroots outreach program.

The Academy sanctions charities across the country to host celebratory viewing parties on Oscar Night with proceeds directly benefiting the charities.

All parties will feature the live broadcast of the Awards presentation; many will integrate Hollywood-style party elements, including red carpet arrivals, local celebrities, “paparazzi” photographers, predict-the-winner contests and live entertainment.
