Annoyed With Previous Hair Removal Treatments – The LightSheer Duet has all the Answers

Monday, August 23rd, 2010

Annoyed With Previous Hair Removal Treatments The LightSheer Duet has all the AnswersWhile many of us associate the summer days with silky smooth legs and arms we all know the cooler seasons are best for laser hair removal.  New technology is now making this process easier, comfortable and faster than ever before!

The laser is called the LightSheer Duet and dermatologists across the country are referring to it as the gold standard in laser hair removal.

Here is why:
What annoyed us about previous hair removal services?

-  We spent an average of $60 – $75 to get a Brazilian wax once a month and it just keeps growing back.   Add in the cost of other hair removal maintenance and you can total more than $1,200 a year.

-  We constantly cut our legs with those horrible cheap razors.

-  We got razor burn and red irritated bumps from shaving our armpits everyday.

Traditional laser treatment took up to an hour for a woman’s legs – who has that kind of time? Continue reading “Annoyed With Previous Hair Removal Treatments – The LightSheer Duet has all the Answers” »

Essential Oils Around Since Time Of Pharaohs

Monday, August 23rd, 2010

Essential Oils Around Since Time Of PharaohsEssential Oils (EO) are key components used by many consumers who make their own hair and beauty home recipes with a variety of carrier oils or butters.

Essential Oils have been around since the time of the Pharaohs.  Essential oils of flowers and plants have been used to promote beauty and general well being.

The Power Of Scents

Latest scientific research has confirmed this ancient knowledge revealing the amazing power of scents to to influence our moods and emotions.  Studies have shown that some scents can help create relaxation while others can assist with sleep and a variety of other goals.

I personally dab lavender essential oil onto my wrists every night to help me fall asleep.  It works like a charm.  I also use peppermint EO when I need a lift or rosemary EO to help my scalp.  Ylang Ylang is another favorite of mine for feeling relaxed and refreshed. Curl Typing System Cheat Sheet – Descriptions Of All Major Hair Systems

Monday, August 23rd, 2010

Curl Typing System Cheat Sheet Descriptions Of All Major Hair SystemsSince 1983 the famous Queen Of Curl – Ouidad – has been educating the world about curly hair.   One of the ways Ouidad has helped people with natural textures to tame their curls is to help them understand their hair type so they can then find the right naturally textured cut, how to shampoo, the best curl products to use and related natural texture hair care tips and techniques.

Understanding Your Hair Type

A key part of anyone with natural textured hair is to try and understand what type of hair they really have.  Is it naturally wavy with some curls (my own hair), naturally curly with big curls and a few waves, tightly curled without a wave in sight or kinky curly?  Maybe it’s a combination of all of the above or none of the above.

Hairdressers Have Used Hair Classification And Typing Systems For Many Years

Every head of natural waves, curls and kinks are like fingerprints, completely unique.  However, without some sort of guidelines it’s difficult, especially for the naturally textured novices to find their way.  Natural textures are part of a general hair texture classification system which has been in place since almost the beginning of hair dressing days. Fantastic Sams Raising Money For MDA

Fantastic Sams Raising Money For MDA

It costs about $800 to send one child to the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) Summer Camp.

The Eden Prairie Fantastic Sams location (Eden Prairie, Minnesota) is selling decals for $1 and $5 from Aug. 1 to Sept. 3 to help send more kids to Muscular Dystrophy Association Summer Camp; all funds raised will be delivered during the Sept. 6 MDA Labor Day Telethon.

Guests are then given a coupon for that same amount off their next salon service.

More About Fantastic Sams

“Fantastic Sams, which offers a full range of hair care and color services, contributes to a variety of local nonprofit and volunteer efforts in Minnesota communities.

This is the first time Fantastic Sams has supported the Muscular Dystrophy Association through the Summer Camp Program,” according to a news release.

Guests who purchase a decal can write their name on it, and Fantastic Sams will display all of the decals in the salon through Sept. 3. For more information, call 952-746-0999 or visit the salon at 10165 Hennepin Town Road, Suite 107.
