As a blogger as well as a consumer hair and beauty expert my eyeballs are often glued to some form of television.  While I have watched some of the various Real Housewives, I would be in trouble if my life depended on matching names to images.

I always promise myself that I will stop and get caught up with the various ladies, but so far I confess I have minimal knowledge.

Real Housewives Of New Jersey

I can say I’m following the story of “Real Housewives of New Jersey” to the extent that I am watching the drama involving Teresa Giudice.  Teresa and her husband filed for bankruptcy last Fall in order to start over and eliminate their crushing wall of debts.

Actually I feel badly for Teresa and her husband.  There are always two sides to every story and I believe no one is ever completely innocent.

A lot of people are going through very challenging financial times, but unlike the Guidices they are allowed to have their privacy in difficult financial times.

Yeah I know, there is a definite price to fame and since Teresa is on a reality TV show she has to know things like this can happen.

Her life is no longer hers and privacy is hard to maintain when you have already given permission for your life to play out on Bravo TV.  But I still feel for her and what she must be going through.  It can’t be easy regardless of the reasons of her life in the public eye.

Hidden Assets?

The big story around Teresa is that she will have to watch all her personal belongings get sold at auction.

Why?

A trustee for the Giudice bankruptcy case alleged in court documents the “Real Housewives of New Jersey” star and her husband Joe had hidden assets.

The trustee pointed at profits from Teresa’s book Skinny Italian.  There was also questions regarding Mr. Guidice’s stake in a pizzeria, which was featured on the Bravo show.

Besides the questions about the Teresa’s book and her husband’s pizzeria, the trustee questioned how the pair had valued their personal property.

Forced Auction Of Giudice Personal Property Scheduled For August 22, 2010

As a result of the trustee questions a forced auction has been set for August 22 at 12 p.m. (EST) to be held at the Giudice Towaco, New Jersey, mansion.

According to People.com, an auction Web site with information on all the details of the items to be auctioned will be made available.  Some of the items for sale will include a Schaefer & Sons grand piano, two flat-screen TVs, several ornate chairs and sofas, a large ceramic urn, decorative fireplace accessories, a foosball table, a faux marble chess set, a suit of armor and at least three chandeliers.

A Sea-Doo Bombardier X20 Jet Boat and a snow plow are also listed among the items set to be auctioned off.

Giudice Attorney Denies Wrongdoing

According to People, an attorney for the Giudices, Jim Kridel, said he hoped an auction wouldn’t take place, and also said the couple had not mislead the court about their assets at the time of their bankruptcy filing.

He denied that the famous couple had undervalued their personal property, saying, “You can’t sell used, personal property for the sticker price. A $5,000 chandelier won’t sell for $5,000. Nobody will buy a used mattress. The real issue in bankruptcy is, what’s the value of everything? And at the time of the bankruptcy, these things didn’t have any value.”
