Doing A Mud Mask The Old Fashioned Dirty Way

A Review Of Yes To Carrots Pampering Hair Mud ConditionerWhen I was a little girl I overheard my mother tell a friend she was going to try an at-home mud mask.  Thinking it was a great idea I proceeded to pour some water into the flower gardens at home, whip up a muddy mess and paint it on the faces of me, my brother and the neighbor kid down the street.

I was beaming with pride when I went inside to show my mom who was of course horrified.  After cleaning up myself, my little brother and the neighbor kid my mom instructed me in no uncertain terms to stay away from the backyard mud.

Of course mud masks have been around forever.  They’re messy but when made with healthy mud and not the kind from the rose garden, mud masks are effective deep-cleansers.

They contain  negatively charged ions which attract positively charged impurities.

Mud Masks Are Beneficial For Stressed Out Tresses

A Review Of Yes To Carrots Pampering Hair Mud ConditionerOver the years beauty experts discovered that mud masks are also beneficial for stressed out tresses and a variety of mud masks sprung up from different manufactures.  In reality a true mud mask applied to hair is not the ideal treatment.  While it might work for the scalp, the drying principles of mud can soak up much needed hair oils.

Review

The Pampering Hair Mud Conditioner was thick, creamy and very rich. The aroma is light, but fragrant.  It does not have an overwhelming or cloying aroma.

I was wondering how this conditioner would work for my naturally wavy/curly and dry hair since it does contain silicones (Dimethicone).

A Review Of Yes To Carrots Pampering Hair Mud ConditionerIt’s hard to predict how my hair will respond to silicones but in this case it made my hair feel great.   The structure of my hair cuticle means that it’s always slightly open.  As a result I need lots of constant moisturizing and conditioning.  Not only did I use this product as a rinse-out conditioner, I used it for my Conditioning Only (CO).  This was a great surprise because sometimes ‘cones just make my hair feel coated but in this case it didn’t.

Options For Pampering Hair Mud Conditioner

Depending on whether your hair does well with oils and/or cones this product could be used for:

1.  Conditioning Only (CO) cleansing
2.  Rinse out conditioning
3.  Deep conditioning with or without a heat cap
4.  As a pre-conditioner for ends

Summary

This product combines organic carrots with a boost of Beta-Carotene and Dead Sea minerals.  The results?  Detoxification and nourishment for your hair.   This product is chock full of certified organic carrots which are brimming with essential vitamins which keeps your lovely locks happy, healthy, and hydrated.

This product is also free of petroleum and SLS.  It is paraben-free and cruelty free.  It is also very affordable for 16.90 ounces.
