Marie Osmond Finds Solace For Death Of Son In Performing
Only days after the tragic suicide of her son Michael Blosil, star Marie Osmond is planning to return to her performance schedule with brother Donny at Flamingo Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas. Marie is scheduled to return on March 9th after the funeral of her son.
Although it was a shocking and devastating loss, Marie reportedly believes that performing will help her in her grieving and healing process. Marie’s show’s producer, Chip Lightman told PEOPLE Magazine “I think performing will help the healing process for her.”

Marie’s son’s death was a complete shock to the performer and former contender on ABC’s Dancing With The Stars. Marie and Donnie agreed to temporarily suspend their popular Las Vegas performances and travel back to their native Utah to arrange for the funeral of Marie’s son.
To make up for the lost shows Donny and Marie have arranged to have five additional shows in April at the Flamingo.
Michael Blosil had a well-documented history of depression which started after the divorce of his parents. As a result of his depression he entered rehab back in 2007. Although he had struggled with his personal demons, Michael’s life seemed to be moving in the right direction.
In a 2009 interview with PEOPLE, Marie said “I couldn’t be more proud of him (Michael). He’s got a 3.9 GPA in high school. He’s looking at scholarships to some wonderful colleges.”
