Presently, the Max Factor name is a brand of Procter & Gamble Co., which purchased the company during 1991. The line enjoyed its highest popularity in the 1920s and 1930s.

Max Factor has lost a lot of its market share of the iconic line to other brands such as CoverGirl.  As a result Procter & Gamble announced plans in June of 2009 to pull Max Factor cosmetics completely from the U.S. market in early 2010 as the brand’s popularity with American consumers continued to decline.

It will continue to be sold in European markets where it is still a top seller.

If you love Max Factor you will need to look outside the United States to continue to purchase it.  Luckily there are European websites that will be carrying it and will ship to the US.

    Hi HB,

Oh Max Factor is such a wonderful celebrity hallmark product. It may take on a wonderful European cache and become more appealing within the United States.

    Happy Dating and Relationships,

    April Braswell

I was very disappointed to read this. I have been looking for Max Factor products for a few months now. I was unaware that it was discontinued in the US.
