Curly haired Taylor Swift took home an armload of Country Music Association (CMA) awards this week.  Not only did the blonde curly haired beauty sweep the CMAs, she did so in front of the largest audience the CMA Awards show has seen in four years.

Reuters.com reported  “the three-hour show averaged 16.8 million viewers for ABC on Wednesday, up from 15.9 million last year. It marks the highest score since 2005, when 17.7 million people tuned in to the CBS broadcast.”

Of course it doesn’t hurt that the CMA was packed with fan favorites but of course Taylor Swift couldn’t get any hotter if you set her on fire.  Besides having a smokin hot beau by the name of Taylor Lautner who also happens to be co-starring in the New Moon film from the Twilight franchise.  The word is that the two are definitely a couple.

The 19 year old singing sensation took home awards for “Best Female Vocalist,” “Album of the Year,” and “Music Video of the Year.”   She also was the youngest person ever to win the title of “Entertainer of the Year.”

Taylor was thrilled and told the media “I will never forget this moment, because in this moment everything I have ever wanted has happened to me.”

Natural Curly Tresses On Self Magazine Cover

The mega talented performer is also a hair style idol with her natural curly haired tresses which she wears au natural.  Her curly hair has become part of her trademark along with her gorgeous baby blonde color and her stunning beautiful eyes.  Taylor, who is a close friend of Ellen Degeneres, recently appeared on the cover of Self Magazine with her hair worn naturally curly, of course.

Hollywood Hairdresser Ken Paves created the hair styles for curly haired Taylor for her Self Magazine shoot.  Ken started the hair styling process by letting Taylor’s natural curls completely air dry.

“Taylor has amazing naturally curly hair,” reported Ken, and in order to keep those curls looking magazine cover perfect, Ken wanted to start with air-dried curls. “I always like to air-dry curly hair. It produces the smoothest effect.”

Once her beautiful blonde long tresses were “cool and set” he re-hydrated her curls by misting throughout the ends with plain water in a mister bottle.   The reason he added back moisture after her curls naturally air dried?  To add definition to her ringlets and slightly open the cuticle.

He noted “since curly hair tends to be more porous, you have to keep the hair hydrated.”  One of Ken’s favorite tools for keeping curly (and all types of hair) hydrated is his Ken Paves Healthy Hair Shine Serum.

As a rule Ken likes to first apply the serum to the palms of his hands and then then use his hands and fingers to apply the serum from the mid-shaft to the ends of random sections of curls.

Ken said “I am such a huge fan of naturally curly hair and I often seen Taylor and other celebs in photos where their curl has been loosened.” For the Self cover he explained “I wanted her to be in all of her curly glory and for her curls to look natural and touchable!”   To define Taylor’s curls into perfection he selected random ringlet patterns and fine tuned them with a 1″ curling iron which he wrapped around the outside of the ringlets for a few seconds.

For Taylor’s crown, The Hollywood Hair man took the natural curl spring, movement and overall weight of the ringlets into consideration and created softer and looser curls to make her curly hair hair look more natural.

To finish off Taylor’s cover curly haired look Ken flipped her head over and with his hands “glistening with shine serum” I shook out her gorgeous, super shiny, glamorous curls working that shine serum from roots to end!

The finished result?  “Picture perfect curls” which are bouncy shiny and in all their natural glory on the cover of Self Magazine.
