Marg Helgenberger Cinnamon Red Tresses Rules On CSI: Crime InvestigationI recently was chatting with one of my all time favorite celeb hairdressers, Robert Hallowell. He was thrilled at his latest hairdressing assignment.

He told me he would be the new Head Hairdresser on the new season of CSI: Crime Scene Investigation (Las Vegas).  Filming for the Fall 2009 season starts in June and Robert is preparing for his new project.

I was thrilled for Robert as well as the show (he’s a great hairdresser) and asked him whose hair he would be doing on one of my favorite TV shows.

As head hairdresser on the show he will be designing the hair styles for the entire cast and the look of the show which he said would be focused on how the team might wear their hair in the crime lab and out in the field during the crime investigation field trips.

Marg Helgenberger Cinnamon Red Tresses Rules On CSI: Crime InvestigationHe also said he would be working with some of the stars.  Although it will be a lot of work, Robert is fantastic and I know he will be amazing.

Marg’s Hair Type And Texture

Robert told me in preparation for the project as head hairdresser on CSI he had already worked with Marg Helgenberger (Catherine Willows).

(Image of Catherine (Marg Helgenberger) and Grissom (William Petersen – Table Stakes – Season 1 of CSI:  Crime Investigation on CBS -  Thursday, February 22, 2001 (9:00 – 10:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network. Photo: Robert Voets/Alliance – All Rights Reserved).

When I asked Robert about Marg’s tresses (of course I wanted all the hair details) he said she is “gorgeous with perfect alabaster skin and stunning cinnamon red hair”.

I pressed for more strand details and Robert told me Marg’s hair is mostly straight with a bit of bend (texture) which means it’s easy to create a range of great hairstyles for her.  He noted that her hair is a really “beautiful color” and he’s excited to be able to work with her on the show.

Marg Helgenberger Cinnamon Red Tresses Rules On CSI: Crime InvestigationI told Robert I was intriqued with all the different hairstyles Marg has worn over the past eight and a half years.  I mentioned she had worn her hair short, medium and long with a fringe, off her face, up and down.

(Season 3: Got Murder? – Willows (Marg Helgenberger) and Grissom (William Petersen) work backward from the gruesome discovery of a human eyeball in a raven’s nest on CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, Thursday, January 16, 2003 (9:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT) on CBS – All rights Reserved).

She’s worn it straight, wavy and with a variation on the current color.  At one point she seemed almost blonde but lately her hair has been a richer shade of red, which I personally love.

Robert Hallowell – Long Time Hollywood Hairdresser

Robert is a long time veteran of working as head hairdresser on TV shows and has worked in the most recent past on Dirt with Courteney Cox as well as working on the past two seasons of ABC’s Dancing With The Stars.  He also has worked on several movie sets with Lucy Liu and a wide range of celebrities from Bridget Fonda and Jennifer Love Hewitt to Geena Davis and Healther Locklear.

Marg Is An Award Winning Star

The stunning red haired Marg has received both Emmy and Golden Globe Award nominations for her amazing portrayal of Catherine Willows in CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, an American crime drama television series. CSI premiered on CBS on October 6, 2000.

CSI – Las Vegas

CSI trails the investigations of a team of Las Vegas forensic scientists as they unveil the circumstances behind mysterious and unusual deaths and other crimes.

For the first eight and a half seasons, the show starred William Petersen as Dr. Gil Grissom, the night shift supervisor who excels in crime scene investigation. In the middle of the ninth season, Petersen left and was replaced by Laurence Fishburne as Dr. Raymond Langston, a former medical doctor who turns criminalist in an attempt to rid himself of past demons.

Marg Helgenberger Holds The New Team Together

Marg is a key member of the CSI Team and since the exit of William Petersen from the show has been tasked with carrying some of the key story lines.

The actress is very popular with fans and has been on the show since the first episode.  She has appeared on 206 episodes, the most of any of the ongoing stars and tied with George Eads and Paul Guilfoyle.

Marq has a long acting history ranging back until the 1980s.  Her additional television credits include “China Beach,” for which she won an Emmy Award for her portrayal of K.C., and recurring guest appearances in the series “ER” as George Clooney’s character’s love interest.

She also had guest starring roles in the movies “Perfect Murder, Perfect Town,” on CBS, “Thanks of a Grateful Nation” and “The Happy Face Murders.  She also appeared in the mini-series “The Tommyknockers.”

Marg has appeared in the feature films “Mr. Brooks,” “In Good Company,” “Erin Brockovich,” “Species,” “Species II,” “Fire Down Below,” “The Last Time I Committed Suicide,” “My Fellow Americans,” “The Cowboy Way,” “Bad Boys,” “Always” and “Crooked Hearts.”

She was born in North Bend, Neb., and lives in Los Angeles.  Her birth date is Nov. 16, 1958.  Marg is currently divorced.  Her only son Hugh is away at school.

More About CSI

CSI has been nominated numerous times for industry awards and has won nine awards during its history.  The success of the program has led it to be spun off into two additional shows, an exhibit at Chicago’s Museum of Science and Industry, a series of books, and several video games.

Reception of the show is generally good, with ratings making it the number one show on the network several times in its history, although it has been criticized for its inaccurate portrayal of how police investigations are performed and for its often extremely violent depictions of the crime.

It has reached milestone episodes, such as the 100th, Ch-Ch-Changes, which aired November 18, 2004 and the 200th, Mascara, airing on April 2, 2009. On Wednesday, May 20, 2009 the show was renewed for a tenth season.

The ninth season of the show finished airing on May 14, 2009. The show was created by Anthony E. Zuiker and produced by Jerry Bruckheimer. It is filmed primarily at Universal Studios in Universal City, California.
