Rocker Fred Durst (@freddurst on Twitter) was the classic bad boy and during his reign as the lead singer for Limp Bizkit he enjoyed a very controversial career.

Not only did Fred have verbal and physical confrontations with fans and other celebrities, he made gossip and tabloid headlines for saying a lot more than he should have about his love relationships with Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera and others.

Even though many years have gone by, Fred is still talking about the relationship he claims he had with Britney Spears back in 2003 when the two were recording together.  However, Britney never confirmed a “relationship” happened between her and Fred.

Now that Britney is back in the spotlight and touring with her sizzling hot Circus tour, Fred is again speaking up about his “fling” with popstar Britney.  Fred still claims to the media that he was absolutely telling the truth about hooking up with the famous blonde.

Back in 2003 when Fred reported to the media that he and Britney were having a “relationship” Britney denied it and the Limp Bizkit member was furious and responded to the media in anger.

Fred recently spoke to MTV News and told them “it just became a fiasco of madness [But] I always stay true to my heart and true to everything I did and my intentions, and I am in no way a liar.”

“I look back on it as very interesting [in terms of] how things have been sort of unraveling for her since,” he said. “[But] it is what it is. I can sleep at night knowing I made decisions that I wanted to make.”

Fred also told MTV that “I just guess at the time it was taboo for a guy like me to be associated with a gal like her!”  At least now Fred is very cool about the entire event and seems to have lost his anger.

Fred was also rumored to have gotten cozy with Christina Aquilera as well as that other blonde pop star, Jessica Simpson, in Las Vegas in 2005 at a Hard Rock Cafe 10 year anniversary party.  After the rumors hit Jessica’s reps denied that anything had happened between Jess and Fred although they had friends in common at the party where they were spotted together.

Fred did not ever claim to have had any type of fling or hook up with Jessica although he did insist and continues to insist that he and Britney did have a fling when he said that they did.

As the years have gone by Fred has gotten old, wiser and more mellow.  He is in the process of directing a film, The Education of Charlie Banks with Jason Ritter and Jesse Eisenberg.  He is also working to reunite Limp Bizkit for an upcoming new album and tour.
