It’s been a big media week for actress Salma Hayek. First she made the news for accepting a new movie role which requires her to wear facial hair.
Then, she made news after breaking her engagement to the father of her daughter, French billionaire Francois-Henri Pinaul, she surprised the world by eloping with him on Valentine’s Day, February 14th.
The couple, who were on again and off again, married quietly at the town hall in the Saint Germain area of Paris. What could be more romantic than to marry on V Day?
Salma and Francois-Henry Pinault had been formally engaged after the birth of their daughter and had been planning an extravagant wedding said to cost millions. The wedding was canceled and then it appeared the two went their separate ways. At one point it was rumored that Salma had listed herself on a dating site for very wealthy people.
In the Fall of 2008 the couple were again spotted hanging out together which ultimately let to the surprise marriage over the weekend.
