Hair Accessories Fashion Trends - Ruffles

Back in 1999 some of the hottest fashion trends revolved around “the big frill” as they referred to ruffles.

With fashions we all know that what goes around eventually comes around.

Therefore it was no surprise when the ruffle appeared again for Fall 2008 as one of the most sizzling features around.

Designer Alberta Ferretti told Allure Magazine ,in the past, that “ruffles are a means to communicate lightness and transparency”.

Ferretti said ruffles “add a touch of poetry, a tad of sweetness to the sharpness of a dress” or any other fashion design such as hair accessories, shoes or handbags.

Alberta again embraced ruffles for her Fall 2008 collection showing them as accent ruffles on some of her designs. The designer knows what she is talking about when it comes to ruffles since she is widely known and loved for her soft and beautiful fashions.

“They create a romantic mood” according to designer Donatella Versace, especially “when done in a very uncomplicated way.”.

Douglas Hannant was another of the many fabulous designers who also showed off ruffles in his 2008 Fall collection.

Hannant wowed fashion crowds with a Poiret collar blouse with gorgeous ruffles spilling around the collar and cascading down the front.

The famous designer balanced romantic flourishes with the hot menswear and architectural silhouette trends. The result was stunning.

Beloved designer Oscar de la Renta also showcased ruffles in the form of a lavish satin blouse with an array of ruffles. The gorgeous blouse was perfectly paired with beautiful high-waisted silk trousers.

Designer Diane Von Furstenberg offered a more modern interpretation of a ruffled “Working Girl” look. She combined a power suit look with ruffles.

Celebrities immediately embraced the ruffle trend. They started popping up on the Red Carpet with an array of ruffled fashions.

“Gossip Girl” Leighton Meester showcased ruffled at the Modern Bride’s “25 Trendsetters” awards.

Other celebrities embracing ruffles include Eva Longoria Parker, Charlize Theron and Michelle Monaghan.

If you’re not a girly girl but want to embrace the hot new ruffle movement you can still indulge by selecting some hair accessories that carry the ruffle theme as part of their designs.

Whether you prefer headbands or pony twists you can adopt ruffles into your overall fashion look with a smaller financial investment but with dazzling style.
